Party

It started just after freshman year.

Freshman year wasn't the best for me, so when the last day of school rolled around I was more than happy.

Except for one thing. Sierra Cormack's end of the year party. Now usually I couldn't care less about a party, and I didn't. Except my best friend Brianna Kowalski wanted to go more than anything else in the world.

Now one thing that you have to understand about Brianna is that she would do anything to be popular. She wants tons of friends, a boyfriend and fun.

But me and Brianna aren't considered "fun". Brianna's a drama and vocal geek and I'm pretty much just a regular student.

We're not total rejects, but were definitely not considered cool.

I've known Emma since I was three and I can't imagine not being friends with her, but man sometimes she gets on my nerves. But she's one of my only friends, so I decided to help her out with this party thing.

Now Sierra's party wasn't exactly an invite thing (what mature high school parties are?), so it's not like Emma had to work hard to get an invite. Pretty much anyone could go, except only popular people really go to parties.

The party was on the last day of school at 9:00, and it was at Sierra's mansion.

Brianna had begged me to go with her, so she wouldn't seem like she was alone.

Now her plan was to make friends with some of the girls and get in with her lifelong crush, Brad McDowell.

Here's the thing about Brad McDowell: he'd never go for Brianna. Well two things I guess; he's also a jerk.

But me being Brianna's friend of 11 years, I couldn't say that to her.

So here I was at the biggest party of the year for 14 year olds getting drunk after one shot of cheap beer.

Me and Brianna walked into Sierra's huge backyard and I saw a mob of girls in bikinis pushing each other into a pool and guys laughing.

I almost turned around right there, but Brianna looked at me hopefully and took off her sweater.

She had the smallest pink bikini I've ever seen on. Now here's another thing you need to understand about Brianna: she's not exactly the skinniest. I know it's something she's self conscience about, and I know that she skips meals and tries to get excersise. I hate that these people make her feel she has to do that.

"We were supposed to bring bathing suits?", I ask her.

"Uh yeah, did I not text you that?", she asks laughing.

"Uh no you didn't", I say.

She looks down at my black skirt, burgundy tank top, and black strappy sandals.

"Well you can swim in that!", she says excitedly.

I sigh as I follow her to the crowd of people. Sierra's in the middle, of course, surrounded by guys, most of whom are on the football team (including Brad McDowell). Beyoncé's playing and she already has a beer in her hand even though it's only 9:29.

"Hey Sierra!", Brianna calls to her.
I try to hide my face. This is so embarrassing.

Sierra gets a confused look on her face and she stops dancing.

"Who are you?", she asks walking closer to us.

Here's what you need to know about Sierra: me and Brianna have gone to school with her since we were 5, she's tall, blonde, blue eyed and has the whole Barbie doll thing down. She's rich and she has the best parties. Oh and apparently she has no idea who the hell me and Brianna are.
