A new demigod had arrived at camp
Specifically, a son of Zeus, Zane Faust.
I was going to propose to Annabeth. I had already gotten permission from Athena herself to do it. Hephaestus himself had forged a ring for the two of us.
I was going to do it tonight.
I went to the beach, where I saw Zane kissing a girl. I wouldn't have cared, except that girl was Annabeth.
