"Why, Annabeth? Why?" I asked.
Annabeth said nothing.
Zane smirked at me. I threw the ring at her, and she gasped.
"After all we've been through! I fricking fell into Tartarus for you!"
She then said the four words that shattered my heart and left it in pieces. "I never loved you, Percy."
"We're done, Annabeth. Forever." Annabeth glared at me.
"I swear it on the River Styx."
