. . .

Fridays somehow always seemed to drag on. Back in high school, the classes seemed to whiz by, the bell signaling in no time, everyone looking way less exhausted as they stepped out of the doors. Even though she only had two lectures and one class to attend to, she could feel her eyes wanting to shut, letting that fuzzy feeling take over her eyelids. In the middle of the second lecture of the day, she allowed her eyes to flutter shut for just a brief moment, but that same short length of time turned out to be ten minutes. She was still listening to the professor drone on, only with her eyes closed. She was also conscious enough to notice the doors at the back of the hall open and shut, and the seat beside her becoming newly occupied. Did her eyes open though? No. Just as she began to slip away, she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Eyes shooting open, startled, she whipped her head towards the shoulder that the stranger had made contact with.

"Oh shit, sorry. Didn't mean to scare you. I just uh, need to borrow a pen." the slightly familiar face said, his honey-brown eyes crinkling slightly at the corners as he gave her a soft smile.

"No, it's fine. I probably shouldn't have dozed off like that anyway," she says, bringing one of her hands up to her mouth as she yawns lightly, "Here, take your pick... Vernon right?"

"Yup, but you can call me Hansol too if you want. I recognize you but... I don't think I ever caught your name. You hang out with Cheol and Jeonghan?" he said, a cat-like smile playing on his lips.

"Mhm, I'm Dayoung" she blinks a couple of times to try and get her eyes to adjust to the light as he slides her pencil case back her way.

"Are you and Seungcheol, like, dating or something?" he asks her.

She almost breaks out into a fit of laughter, as if the two of them dating was some obscure thought, even though it was a decently logical question. "No, no, no. We're just close. It's nothing like that" she manages to get out while quietly laughing a little.

"Wait really? Oh god, that's embarrassing on my part. I thought you guys were... You act like you're an old married couple haha." He said. There it was again. That smile. It was so contagious she couldn't help but smile back at him.

"We do? Oh. my. god. WE DO... ugh, ew. I really needa check my head" she says jokingly.

And just as she was going to start paying attention to the lecture, the bell rang. She could've sworn that it hadn't been that long since it started, but judging by her misperception of the time she zoned out earlier, she figured she was wrong. She messily shoved her books into her bag and stood up, slinging one of the straps over her shoulder, Vernon doing the same. She had a short break before her class, and she couldn't wait to get out of that hall and sit at the campus cafe and doodle in her sketchbook or the margins of her notes, or as she liked to call it "studying".

"What hall of torture are you headed to now?" the boy beside her asked, shuffling his weight between both of his feet.

"Actually, I'm headed to one of my only safe havens on this damned campus" she retorts, sighing.

He raised one of his eyebrows slightly in question as to where exactly she was venturing to. "The cafe" she answers his questioning glance.

"Ah, I see. Well, I'm heading in the complete opposite direction" he let out a breath, relaxing his shoulders a bit. "I'll uh, see you around then?"

"Sure thing" she chimes, smiling up at him. He smiles back down at her, and she can't help but take a mental picture of the way his lips curl when he smiles. She looks down with a shy smile, nodding, cheeks slightly tinted pink, and swivels slowly on her heel to head off into the direction of the coffee-scented safety. "See you later then, Sol" she says, adding a slight emphasis to the nickname she decides to give him. She was aware of the way her pen sat behind his ear, but she didn't see the need to ask for it back just yet. But, what she didn't notice is the way the boy smiles to himself once hearing his new nickname, as they both walk their separate ways.

Hey guys, long time no see... I've FINALLY updated this book!! I had a BUNCH of Midterms last week, and I have some more this week too, but I decided to write to help take my mind off of stressing. Normally I'd be on here or on Tumblr reading fics or other drabbles if I was really freaking out, but I couldn't find one to fit the vibe I was going for, so I came back from the dead and re-read this fic (and the amount of fangirling over Hao and Sol that happened at 2 am this morning was very much needed). But anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this update. I kinda forgot I hadn't uploaded this one yet cause I thought I already did, but I guess I was just imagining it (lol). Cya guys around :)

Sigh
