I wake up startled and feeling like I have been beaten by a truck that then got me to roll under its massive wheels. My body hurts from the way I slept, I guess and my head is still pounding but not as strongly as before. I think I can now actually function to a basic level. I don't want to take the eye mask off just in case it makes it worse. It has happened before.

I touch the seat around me and my left hand finds Chris's arm. I remove my hand quickly and apologise.

"Oh hi there! Welcome back." - He whispers to me.

"Hi. Was I asleep for long?" There's a silence and I think he may be checking his watch.

"For about 2 hours. How are you feeling?"

"Still have the migraine but it feels slightly better than before."

"That's great news. Madeline came to check on you before but you were asleep. Do you want me to call her over?"

"No, I think I am OK for now. Thank you so much."

"Yes, you said that before."

"And I will continue saying it because you were very kind."

"I couldn't possibly not help. If I can I will."

"Well, thank you once again."

"Stop it, otherwise I will be forced to enforce a Thank You jar and let's be honest. I think you will fill it up quite quickly."

"Funny enough, that's an excellent metaphor for the state of the world. Paying a price for being decent."

"That is indeed true, sadly."

A silence engulfs our conversation and I feel we are both thinking the same. The current state of the world is quite a strong subject for opening a conversation with a stranger. I hear heels on low pile carpet coming towards us.

"How are you feeling?" Madeline asks me.

"Hi Madeline. I am feeling better. Don't want to risk the auras and black outs coming back though."

"Oh don't worry. I will be here the whole flight if you need anything. Can I get you something to eat? You missed the first service."

"I wouldn't mind a chocolate bar. I think my sugar levels are a bit low."

"Of course. Which one do you prefer?"

"Mars, Twin or Snickers if you have, but anything will do as long as it's not Bounty." The three of us giggle.

"I have to agree on that. No Bounty."

"Of course. I will bring it right away." I hear her heels moving away from us into the galley.

"I was afraid I would have to ask you to move back to your seat if you had said Bounty." He says.

"Everybody loves chocolate, just not Bounty". I tell him with a smile and we sit there in silence until Madeline brings me a Twix and a bottle of water and a chocolate bar for Chris. I hear him trying to open the package.

"What did you get?" I ask him.

"The same. I do love the caramel, biscuit and chocolate combination. It all mixes together nicely."

"True. Although I love pretty much any chocolate around, Mars has too much chocolate and Snickers has too many nuts. KitKat doesn't have nuts and and I always feel I have to take a break when eating it." I chuckle.

"Exactly. I have that with KitKat too. Their marketing is just too good I find myself thinking about life when having a bite. It's too much drama. Twix is just balanced and drama-free."

We laugh. This conversation is delicious and has managed to get my mind off the migraine although the throbbing pain still manages to hit me hard from time to time.
