"Start talking," Ken growled.
"Uh, well, management wants you to think that they see you as a metal endoskeleton during the night, but, uh, if that were the case, they probably wouldn't apologize in the morning, so, yeah. I don't know why they attack, but if there was no night guard then they couldn't get insurance, or something like that," Joseph stammered.
"Wait, wait, wait. They apologize?" Ken asked in disbelief.
"Uh, yeah. Haven't they? Maybe if you went back in, they'd see you and, y'know, say sorry."
Ken was about to turn around when someone tapped his shoulder. Joseph ducked away with a quiet "Oh, um, never mind."
"Hey, I just kinda wanted to say sorry," a man behind Ken said. Turning around Ken could see the voice belonged to none other than Bonnie. "We're not really ourselves at night, I hope you can forgive us," the bunny said, looking down at his feet.
"And why should I believe a seven-foot purple rabbit that was just trying to kill me?" Ken accused.
Bonnie looked upset. "Look, I know this looks bad, but honestly, I swear! We can't control ourselves at night, he controls us!"
"Who is he?" Ken asked, suspicious.
"He? He!? He's nothing! He's no-one! As a matter of fact, I didn't even say anything! Hahaha!" the rabbit said frantically.
"Okay, you dropped the ball. I know you're hiding something, you may as well tell me." Ken teased.
Bonnie sighed. "It's him. He hides in the basement, bent on revenge. But he'll never get it. So he forces us to help him."
"Help him do what?"
"Help him shut down the restaurant, so he'll come back"
"Who will come back?"
"The purple man"
Ken collapsed, an image of that same man in the trench coat standing over a child lying in a pool of blood. Bonnie caught Ken, bringing him back to his feet. Ken groaned, suddenly dizzy. "You should go home," Bonnie said, "It's not a good idea to stay here."
"You're right," Ken mumbled, "I still need to go to school." He stumbled out the door, and got in his car.
"Wait!" Bonnie shouted, "You have to come back tomorrow."
"Why?" Ken yelled back.
"Because if you don't he'll send us out into the city"
