Chapter 1:Resistance

*Previously in the Heatverse*

"We activate the Heat comms again." I say. "We both know that Kane will show up, when he can. Maybe you can contact Jose and tell him to get the next weeks plans, so that we can stay relatively ahead of the regime. We just need to hope that Alex will be here for us. For now, we just need to make a backup plan."

"So, what's our backup plan? What can we do?"
"We go directly after Cyborg." I say. "Red Archer is a really good archer. If we catch him off guard, than-"
"We can end this and free Hammond." She says. "It's genius."
"And the start." I say. "Once we free Hammond, we're gonna need to free everywhere else."
"How?" She asks.
"We have the other heroes." I say. "We have the Fantastic Five, Team Myth -The Grey's team, and now, the... Grey family. We've just got to get our jobs done. Right now, we need to get back into full fighting strength."

Ryan's POV

After Leah and I talk about freeing Hammond, I head back home with Jess and the team. Once we head inside, my father comes out of the kitchen with my Aunt, Penny.

"Hey, guys." says Penny. "What's happening?"

"A lot." I say, as I get a text from Kane. "A lot more than I thought. Crap."

"What?" asks Jess.

"Currently, the Grey is dealing with a family issue, but his family history is more messed up than anyone thought." I say. "Team Myth and Team Mage is busy with both their side of the mission and the family matter."

"Why is Team Mage getting in the family- OH crap." says Penny.

"The Grey is an octuplet." I say. "He is currently busy, but he is trying very hard to help us."

"He has a whole team to help him." says my father.

"He likes to take everything on himself." I say. "We both do. But, so do I, especially."

I explain the entire situation to them and what the plan is. I explain how bad the entire situation is and how I felt when I saw the city.

"That isn't your fault." says grandma. We turn to her. "That could've happened to you. Or worse. And it could still happen."

"It's going to have be someone." I say. "In the wake of new threats, including this one, the heroes are gonna need everyone that we can. The Trinity, Mage, Mystic Strange... We need them all."

"And what about you?" asks my father. "You guys are normal."

"The Heat were the original heroes." I say. "And I have faced some powerful opponents." 

"With our help, this can end." says Jessica.

"And what if you can't stop this before it gets here?" asks Penny.

"I didn't think about that." says Jess.

"I did." I say. "That's why I am here."

"Where can we go?" asks my father.

"Are you going to take them to the base?" asks Jamar.

"For right now, it's the safest place for them. And your families as well." I say.

"You have a base?" asks Grandma.

"Yeah." I say. "When I came back, I had The Grey, when he was still the Wizard, help me create it."

"When was this?" asks my father.

"When I came back from Gavit with Mom and Jaime, Jess and I were hanging out near the school. I went to the school and found something. An entrance." I say.
