        It was the summer between the 2nd year of middle school and the 3rd year. Yamaguchi has always been shorter than Tsukishima. Over the summer, Yamaguchi had spent some time in a different prefecture visiting family, he was gone for three to four weeks. Tsukishima would be lying if he said he didn't miss Yamaguchi, unfortunately, something came up with Tsukishima's family and he had to leave for his grandparents with his brother and mom before Yamaguchi got back. Tsukishima came back the day before school and Yamaguchi didn't want to bother him after having to deal with his family for the past couple weeks. They meet up again since the beginning of summer, Tsukishima thought the smaller boy would be his usual self, Yamaguchi was but when Tsukishima heard the familiar,

        "Tsukki~" The blond's eyes widen and he was speechless. Yamaguchi was significantly taller than before, little less than 4 inches to be precise. Tsukishima had to shake off his shock and pretended everything was normal.

        This continued throughout the year. Tsukishima kept glancing at Yamaguchi in class, he found himself getting nervous that the freckled boy would be taller than him once the growth spurts are over. Yamaguchi kept getting growth spurts every month and Tsukishima was not only nervous about the height but getting annoyed with the thought of being shorter. Towards the end of the year, Yamaguchi's growth spurts calmed down and got to the height of when we first see him. Tsukishima noticed and when Yamaguchi confirmed that he had slowed down and wouldn't get much much taller, Tsukishima almost had a heart attack from relief.

        In their first year, Yamaguchi had apologized for not getting taller in the year before. Tsukishima immediately went off about how scared he got thinking Yamaguchi would get taller than him and how much it made him mad. Yamaguchi kinda felt bad for making Tsukishima feel like that so he apologized, Tsukishima realized that Yamaguchi was feeling worse so he stopped Yamaguchi. (They were walking home after school) Tsukishima looked down into the other boy's eyes and said, "Well, I think I'm glad you grew that much. It makes you the perfect height for someone as tall as me. It makes you the perfect height for this," Tsukishima quickly swept his glasses to the top of his head as he leaned down and kissed Yamaguchi passionately, both boys melting into it.

        "I'm glad I'm not much taller either." Yamaguchi sighed with a content smile.
