Chapter Two

"Nakakaloka naman yang pa alphabetical ni Sir! Fourth year na tayo tapos ganun pa rin seating arrangement. Ano elementary lang?" Maco rants while trying to sit on iron railings in front of our room.

We just got an early break since we didn't have anything to do except all the pre-test in our first three subjects. To be honest, I wasn't expecting a test on our first day nor having that seating arrangement. First year pa yung last na ganun ang set up namin.

Day!

"Oh bakit nasa iba ata nalipad isip mo."

"Ay painosente ka pa beh?"

We all laughed.

They were seated on the right side while me, Lily, Channel and Erylle on the left side.

"Nasa unahan niyo lang si Ghio! Di yun madamot sa sagot."

"Ngayon lang kasi pre-test pa lang!"

I was about to answer when I noticed two students from other section. They're giving us a look like we're criminals and did something horrible. Mukhang napansin din yun ni Lily.

"Problema ng dalawang yun?"

"Why?" Channel asked and followed where we looked.

I asked.

"Ako agad? Hindi ako war freak no. Baka kayo."

"Wag niyo na isipin yun. Baka hindi naman para satin."

Madami namang estudyante ang nasa labas ng classroom ngayon since break time.

We talked and just shrugged it off. But deep inside I know, it's hard to dismiss. It wasn't new that some sections had a grudge against us while other students wanted to be close. There's been a silent war going on since third year. I guess it started when school officials decided to post our overall rank per year on a bulletin board.

Though first year may competition na talaga bawat section, it just happened in school events only. Win the dance competition whatsoever and your section or group will have a grade exemption. This time kasi it feels like a direct attack individually to every student.
