The Life of Cari

Chapter One. My Life.

Cari Hedley.

Location is a small town south of the city, with her Uncle Derek.

Current Age is 18.

Relationship status is TAKEN.

Duration of Relationship so far is just under two years.

Best Friends are Louise and Finn.

Appearance is ash blond, Dark-blue eyes that shine when she smiles, 5 foot 1’, has the personality of the innocent but isn’t really, always a child at heart.

Tuesday Morning:

"BEEP… BEEP… BEEEEEP!!"

The alarm clock went on for at least ten minutes before a hand appeared from the bedding. The hand lay on the clock for another minute before any real movement was seen. A young woman slithered out from underneath the bedding to the draws on the left side of the room. While trying to lift herself up so she could see herself in the mirror, her cell-phone started singing Fireflight’s Unbreakable. The woman shot across the room so fast that not even Speed Racer’s car could beat her. The name on the display was ignored as she opened the cell up and greeted the caller with her cheerful voice. The two talked the whole time she was getting ready for her summer job.

There was a honk out on the street indicating that her ride had decided to grace her with its presence. Scrambling everywhere to finish getting ready, she grabbed her shoes, hung up the phone and raced outside so that her boss wouldn’t fire her for being late to work yet again.

"Hey Cari" Louise smiled at her.

"Hey Louise" mumbled a tired and unorganised Cari.

Louise just kept on smiling the whole way to work. She and Cari have been best friends since day-care, and knew each other inside out. They did everything together… the classic best friend/sister relationship.

The drive to work isn’t as bad as walking so Cari was happy. (As a student you’re usually happy with any nice gesture). However, work on the other hand always sucks. They had a crazy supervisor that timed your breaks and made sure you worked the exact hours, if you worked more or less you would get burned. Cari had been burned so many times she had lost count. Louise always came to her rescue.

The café they worked in would often be empty for most of the day except for Lunch time and around four o’clock in the afternoon. During these times the girl’s friends would come and visit them. Cari’s boyfriend and his mates would also visit as the café was the only one in town.

Cari and her boyfriend Mitchel have been together for two years. Those two years were the best years Cari has ever lived. But with her being so young, it is to be expected.

Mitchel was twenty year old; He had a mop of black hair sitting on top of his hair. He was tall and skinny but had some muscle on his bones; He had brown eyes that would change shades depending on the weather. Mitchel came from a rough type crowd who did drugs, drank more than enough alcohol, played music and skid/drifted their cars for fun. All of his mates had many of the same hobbies or similar hobbies (that was how they became mates).

The guys he would bring with him to the café were Hamish, Andy, Phil and Scott. They all had hands-on type jobs as schooling was not their forte. Mitchel worked as a mechanic with Phil, Andy is a farmer and Scott is a builder with Hamish.

Cari has known Mitchel, Hamish and Phil since she was fourteen years old, in high school. But the boys had left after their third year because they wanted to start earning the big bucks.

She had been to many of their parties and drunk a similar amount of alcohol as the other girls there. It was just something you were expected to do at those sorts of parties, get drunk until you can’t stand. Usually, her Uncle Derek would pick her up from these parties as she had decided long ago that she would take charge on her life, and thus she decided not to put out for Mitchel until she knew that she loved him.

Just letting any reader know that I will be doing POV's in the next chapters, this one was just to get the idea off my chest and such :P
