"God did you look happy in that pink dress" Theo says, bending over because of the laughter. "I wish you spoke to me instead of just staring at me." He stops laughing and his face turns a deep shade of red. He leaves the room. "Hey I was joking."
He carries in a small bag and pulls out a laptop. He opens up an app and it shows many different images which are named after most of the states in America. Then I see movement in Dallas. They're not images. They're videos. These are cameras monitoring the different cities.
"My dad had to create this for Of this World. They were putting cameras in each state to decrease rate of crime. They never got round to actually making it official. So thanks to them and my dad, we can now see where any zombies are." I watch as he packs away the coffee mugs and turns all the switches he can find off.
Then it hits me. "We?" He stops and looks up, confused. "I don't think so. I'd rather go by myself." I grab my rucksack off the floor and leave the bungalow. Theo chases after me, his arms tangled with rucksack straps and laptop wires. "Without me you won't be safe. You won't get far without the camera system. You could get lost or you could stay with me and we could find somewhere for us to stay until this is all over." As much to my annoyance, he makes a valid point.
"Okay, so where we going first?"
