Lexi's POV
Sunlight reflected off my car and into me eyes, almost blinding me, as I drove into the school parking lot. Looking around, I noticed that absolutely nothing had changed. Glancing over at my old pack members who were, as usual, gathered around some kids new car, begging to take it for a spin, it finally hit me. I was back. I was home. And they wouldn't know what hit them.
Everyones attention was suddenly averted to me as they noticed my arrival. Even the humans were looking at me. I bet they wouldn't even remember or notice me. Just my car. My glistening new red Ferrari.
On the opposite side of the road was a parking space. Just one and it was almost the last one. I sped towards it before anyone else could take it. It was hard to find parking here. Always has been and probably always will be.
Reaching for my back pack, which was in my passenger seat, I gracefully exited the car. Yes gracefully. I had practiced at least a thousand times yesterday. Wolf whistles echoed around the parking lot and I wouldn't be surprised if they were coming from the man-whores of the pack. I wasn't going to brag but today looked good. I was dressed to impress and apparently it was working. I turned around to close the door and then pressed the lock button on my car keys, immediately the roof came up and covered the car as the windows dimmed. My best friend Rebecca, who was right behind me, took a parking space near mine, she got out of her white BMW and looked over to me with a wink, I slid my shades onto my head and winked back at her.
"Oh my fucking god Lexi!? Bitch you're back!?" I turned towards the crowd with a barely supressed giggle as I recognised the voice of, Brad Dussler my other best friend that I'd known practically all my life, even longer than Becca. I saw him making his way through the crowd towards me with a grin on his face.
"The one and only!" I laughed as he engulfed me into one of his famous bear hugs. He pulled away and held me at arms length and started scanning my body with his eyes, I smirked, "Like what you see?" I teased him with a wink.
"Damn right. Now would it be weird if I asked you out?" he asked hopefully. I wacked him lightly on his arm, "Keep dreaming buddy. Keep dreaming. " I laughed as he put his hand over his heart and faked a hurt expression, which quickly turned into a smirk, "Oh but you know you want me." I looked him up and down, pretending to check him out, but then shrugged nonchalantly examining my perfectly manicured nails. "Maybe, but I've seen better. He shoved me lightly, that when I couldn't take it anymore, Beccy and I looked at each other and burst out laughing. When we'd calmed down I felt someones gaze burning hole in the back of my head. Which I decided to ignore. It was good to be back.
"It's our mate!' my wolf Mona, explained happily. 'There are many people here it could be anyone.' I tried reasoning with her. Even though i knew the truth. I wasnt ready to admit it. I walked arm in arm with my crazy best friends, letting them lead me to wherever, while we made small talk and laughed about all the crazy things that had happened in the past years. Every one was still staring at us but we pretended that they weren't even there. Some of their expressions were quite comical. I mean I havn't really changed that much have I?
Once the school doors closed, I burst into laughter, "Did you see their faces? God I wish I had my camera!" I gasped in between laughs which got them going too.
"You know that they can hear you right?" Rebecca said once we'd recovered, with a grin still spread on her face. She was always the cautious one. "'Course I do, but do I give a damn?" I scoffed as we walked through the hallways to our lockers.
"I am the new and improved Lexi Sanders. Watch out Bishops High, here I come." I said, as we reached our lockers. I'd already gotten my schedule so I didn't have to get it now. They both looked at me, smirks overtook their features, "So are you going to start flunking classes and being a bad ass and all?" Brad asked. I raised my eyebrow at him and said, "No dumbass. I'm going to be same old me with a huge attitude towards those assholes who think that they're better than every one else." I said as I slammed my locker shut.
Next to me Rebecca was applying another layer of lip gloss. She was naturally beautiful so she didn't need much make - up. She'd look good in a potato sack.
The bell rang signaling first period, which was biology. One of my academic strengths. As we entered the lab, the whole class fell silent. We walked in like nothing was wrong, but inside i was doing a little party dance.
The science teacher Mr. Clark, noticing the sudden silence, looked up. His eyes scanned the room until they landed on me "Oh it looks like we've got a new student today. All though I'm pretty sure the headmaster didn't inform me of you're arrival. Oh well, i guess I'm getting old. So anyway welcome to this school. What's your name?",
"Well actually, Mr. Clark it's me Lexi Sanders..?." A look of confusion then recognition passed over his face. "It's good to have you back Lexi. Take a seat anywhere that's free." He said smiling warmly. "Thank you sir, it's good to be back." I said smiling back at him. As the rest of the class began to pour in Beccy and I took our seats and lessons began. Today was going to be fun.
