Just one glance, she took one thing from me.
My breathe. Suddenly, I can't get hold of it.
With that kind yet fiery set of hazel-nut eyes. I forgot how to utter a simple greeting.
She passed on my way, with my knees wobbling and feet cemented on the spot
where she last saw me.
"Mason!" With my dilating eyes, I successfully turned my head to her direction and gave her a crooked smile. "Omg, Its really you!"
"U-uh, hi Nari. Whats up?" I still stutter around her. Fvck, still acts like HS kiddo way back then. Why she's always making me stutter?
She just smiled while looking at me intently, "You haven't changed, Mase"
I always dream this day. The day I'll see her again and prove her I'm not worthy of her nth time rejection. But fvck myself. As I'm about to say something, a manly hand gripped her shoulder softly.
"Hey, been looking for you B"
I averted my gaze towards my shoe laces and I don't want to show my teary eyes to her for the nth time.
"B, this is Mason. The one I'm talking bout who's consistently courting me since HS days up to 1st year college right before we moved to States. Mase, this is B as in Brye, my big bro. Now, we both graduated and financially stable...I'm ready"
Still in awe, I looked up to the guy—her big bro, his smouldering eyes is looking at me intently as if he's studying my features and I looked at her smiling angelic yet badass face. I looked around us, I saw the people walking in the beach stopped wearing their teasing smiles. Suddenly, I forgot how to breathe properly literally and figuratively.
I took one step at a time and waited till I can hold her but...
The rain poured and thunder roared. I closed my eyes and looked up.
Suddenly, everything turns into black. How could it possibly happen, that my happiest dream became my worst nightmare? She's gone. Because of me. One day, we ran away. We hugged happily while driving and poof! Blinding lights hit us and the next thing I wake up we're in a brink. Its still painful seeing her bloody face while whispering, "I-i love you, Mase. Y-you're free to love whoever you wanna l-love after me. Forget me, please. I know I can't make it. P-please live even if its hard. Don't blame yourself. P-please." She sobbingly said and its like a demolition hits my chest without further notice and she pushed me out of the car.
After that, everything went into a blur. My tears pooled my being and punched my chest to lessen the heartache.
"How can I live Nari?"
