I looked into the mirror with a puzzled look on my face as I swayed from left to right checking out my outfit.
I was confused.
I had only just met Kane and he asked me on a date? Was it a date? I wasn't quite sure.
I mean he didn't ask me he told me.
I didn't know what to think let alone what to wear.
If it was a date then it would be something like a skirt or a pretty shirt with my hair done but if it wasn't a date, then I would turn up casual.
But I couldn't turn up in casual clothes if it was."Rainy I need to use your- what are you doing?" Tiara barged in with her iPhone in one hand.
"Do you knock."
"Ooh Are you going out?" She started singing,"since when do you go out gurl?"
I flashed her a scowl,"since now. Tiara, I need your advice,"
She sat down on my bed with a sarcastic Surprised look on her face.
"You want my advice?,"
I rolled my eyes,"yes Tia I want your advice, keep up."
"Well those shoes are sneakers, you'll need way way more makeup to cover up those freckles , and don't get me started on-"
I cut here off," no I didn't mean that!" I held out my hand signalling her to shut up before I slap her hard enough her contacts would pop off her eyes.
"I need advice on me, look, if you were a really popular and good looking guy would you date me?,"
Tiara looked me up and down, "well, I would date me!"
typical.
As much as I wanted to smack some damn sense into her half a pea sized brain , I just took a deep breath and didn't even bother finishing what I was gonna say.
..."Ok Hun are you ready?," my mother squealed holding up her camera.
Mum obviously hadn't got the message, it wasn't a date, but even if I told her she still wouldn't listen, so I just settled for a small nod."Smile for the camera rainy! Say 'one step closer to getting married'"
What the. My mum is mortifying, oh my gosh I'm sorry you had to hear that.
I didn't respond, instead mum took a snap of me in old jeans, dirty white converse, and my mouth dropped wide in embarrassment.
By what I was wearing you'd think she'd get that it's NOT a date.At that moment my dad walked through the door holding up dozens of bread sticks up in the air.
And this is where my father comes into this.
Meet Rory Jackson.
Ok so dads real name is Rory and not a nickname like mums, but I don't understand how they don't get embarrassed.
I mean it's like , meet the jacksons, Rory and Basil and their three kids Raindrop, Tiara, and Michael Jackson.
I can't.
Any who, your probably wondering, whys your dad waving around bread sticks like he's fighting in a scene from gladiator?!
Well, Every night dad comes home from work he brings home some different type of food that he thinks is different and "exotic", whether it's coconut juice or sweet 'n sour fried chicken, which might I add are disgusting.
Back to the story."Oh Rory guess what!" Mum exclaimed skipping over to dad who put down the breadsticks.
Before dad answered he and mum shared one smooch on the lips that made me wanna vomit out every thing I had ever digested.
"What is it darling?""Raindrop is going on a date!"
My dad nearly choked on air.
He turned to face me, I shook my head."Dad it's actually not a date, a guy just told me to meet him somewhere that's all,"
"Really," he gave me a doubtful frown,"where exactly are you meeting him?"
"A sushi place down the road near school, dad seriously it's not a date."
My mum chirped in this time," of course it is rainy!,"
I frowned,"mum it's NOT a date okay,"
My dad sighed,"well if he breaks my little girls heart I will hunt him down and give him a beating with these sesame seed breadsticks!"
He and mum laughed but I just rolled my eyes and walked towards the door, "I'm going now" I stated,"bye."
Then finally I left my embarrassing life to go meet with Kane.
