Adhira above :)

Adhira P.O.V

The science of earth was breathtaking. I guess that might be the best word for it. I'd always loved the quotes about the sun dying for the beautiful moon. Truth be told I've wanted that love forever, but was never going to get it.

My mom named me Adhira meaning moon, which is kinda a coincidence. Not really, she loved outer space too. Though my mom died four years ago due to cancer in her lungs. It was two stages ahead of surviving it and she only had a month. I mean I was devastated, but I promised everyone that I'd live with her and for her.

"So does anyone know why the moon is so important for our Earth and name reasons why." Mrs. Colleen asks biting down on her nail.

I mean she and my dad always liked each other so she was like my stepmom but my dad would never admit it. She had brown hair and brown eyes. She was a pretty older lady and was the best teacher you could ask for.

I tap my pen up and down waiting for someone to raise there hand to answer. I roll my eyes knowing they had no clue nor were paying attention to what she was saying.

"Apollo." She smiles and looks over to the boy in the corner with his hood up.

He'd look he had a long night and got no sleep. I felt bad for him. He'd look like a loner, but maybe people made fun of him?

"The moon makes the tides. If the moon is closer there's high tide and further away it's low. It also holds the water in place since the gravitational pull is so powerful." I speak up turning the the front of the class.

"Very good Adhira." She nods her head and sighs looking up at the clock.

She continues on about the lecture and how the gravity some way or another helps all of us. Yeah I'm kinda of a science freak, but at least I get good grades.

Once the bell rang I was polite and calm once getting my books up and to my locker.

"You know Adhira, you should be in the class above." Mrs. Colleen says chuckling and handing me my test.

"Well I think it would be rude if I do so." I laugh and look down at my A+. Of course I kinda wasn't surprised.

"You know Adhira for extra credit you could tutor one of the other kids, maybe you'll start having friends." She smiled knowing I ate lunch with her everyday.

"Well I just want to be on my own, but I'd love to talk science with anyone." I cheer up and stand on my tip toes for a brief second.

"Okay well Apollo Coleman, he's failing so I need you to help him." She nods and walks back to her desk.

"Well if I find him, I'll ask him. Have a great day!" I wave bye and walk up to my locker.

My books were held to my chest and I walked confidently. I got weird looks and ugly stares, but I ignored them.

The boy in the hood from the corner of my eyes was staring at something. His legs were to his chest and a vape coming out of his mouth. I looked over for a quiet second, to realize he was staring at me. I creased my eyebrows and shook my head.

"If it isn't the nerd." Marley laughs and throws my books to the ground. I didn't judge her, but she was always mean to me.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" She and her friends chuckle and I bend down to pick up my books. I brushed against a cold hand making me look in front of me.

I lost all breath when the boy with the hoodie picks it up for me. I could see the flower tattoo on his hand and a cross tattoo near his eye. His darker skin was breathtaking, but why the hood?

"Oh my gosh what a loser." She laughs stomping away on her two inch heels.

I sigh and look down at the ground. For a minute maybe I thought the guy felt bad for me, maybe he didn't. Wasn't this the Apollo I was suppose to ask to tutor?

"Your Apollo right?" I ask and take my math textbook away from his hand. He just looked at me in awe.

"What do you want?" He asks coldly and crosses his arms over his chest.

Okay maybe not so nice.

"I just wanted to say Mrs. Colleen wants me to tutor you." I smile and hold my books tighter against me.

His height was towering over me. I only went up to the bottom of his chest, but again I was five four.

"I'm not a special needs kid so no." He scoffs and takes out his vape again.

The nicotine went by my face and the smell lingering.

"I don't think your supposed to vape in school." I clarify.

"You don't even know me, so don't tell me what to do." He says pushing my shoulder with his walking away.

Okay maybe this is going to be harder then I thought.
