Radiant blonde locks flew in front of the girl's face, plump lips pursed in frustration. Dead amber eyes danced around the surrounding, long eyelashes fluttered as she squinted. Perfect eyebrows furrowed in frustration, pupils dilated in the bright sun, glowing down on her features. Sun kissed skin; the perfect tan, yellow-orange eyes, shoulder length golden hair in slight waves.

The girl ran, hopping on one foot while she pulled the black thigh-high stockings up her legs, struggling to find her backpack. Her tan plaid skirt flying around with her crazy movements, flashing her safety shorts underneath. A blue-gray long sleeved blouse with the sleeves rolled to the elbows and the top two buttons undone, a light beige vest on top. To top off the ensemble, a white blazer wrapped and tied around a thin waist. Finally, pushing the sneakers on lazily, she dashed out the door.

Running fast in the wind is Avery Nanako; the heart-throb of Aoba Johsai high school. Blond hair with simple feathered fringe, pretty although dull amber eyes, thin waist and thicker thighs. Hiding imperfections and insecurities under a dashing smirk, she earned the title quickly within the first half of her first year. With unfathomable beauty, how could she not be popular? Even if she is indeed popular however, she never kept anyone close. Laidback and easy-going, she got along with everyone and anyone, despite having no close friends.

Upon seeing the school building, she slowed her pace and started greeting her old classmates. Changing her shoes and walking to the second-year hall, she sat through her boring first class. With summer being over and school starting everyone was lazy and dragging their feet, including Avery. Tired from sleep readjustments, she trudged to her next class.

Giving fake smiles to everyone as they passed, a lazy smirk plastered on her face, she sighed and slumped in her seat at the back of the class once she arrived. Letting all the built-up pressure take her over, shoulders heavy.

Letting her head rest on the cool desk, the broken AC only giving off extra noise. Already tired with school, she closed her eyes and focused on the chatter from surrounding students. Interrupting her focus was the screeching of a nearby chair, she opened her eyes and looked to her right.

There was a boy sitting down and putting his bag under his chair. He looked nervous, or maybe just annoyed. Eyebrows furrowed and mouth pressed tight, delicate features warped with the strong expression. Charming and big dark brown eyes stared around the classroom, clear fair skin highlighted with the mid-morning sun peeking through the windows. Brown hair, matching the shade of his lazy eyes, parted in the middle. Straight nose and high cheekbones from his side-view, the kind of effortlessly attractive guy.

Finally glancing to his left, he caught sight of Avery, head on her desk, hair sprawled. She was already facing the boy, shamelessly staring. Upon seeing him look her way, they made eye contact and the blonde shot up, resting her elbows on her desk and her chin in her hands, continuing to make eye contact. Suddenly, she shot her hand out for him to shake, and smiled charismatically.

"Hey! My name is Avery Nanako, second-year. Who are you?"

Wide eyed and curious, the blonde stared expectantly. Not returning her hand, he turned back to the front even though nothing was happening. Taking the hand that was once for him to shake, she leaned forward and waved it in front of his face, feigning ignorance. She truly knew that he was just ignoring her, analyzing every action, feature, expression, body language and everything.

"Heyyy!!! Not much of a talker, eh?"

The boy continued to ignore her, focusing instead on other things, like the other people in the classroom. Strangely enough he heard loud whispers and terribly hidden gossip.
