The Encounter.

"Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure.
Children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.

"Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And only then will I be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain."

Philippians 2:14-16

The Game's 100 featuring Drake boomed through the dark-tinted BMW 8-series Gran Coupe as Mezee sped down the dimly lit streets. The midnight air filled with ecstasy and lust as he rode past the infamous walking strip, the city nightlife practically calling out to be partaken in.

It'd been a minute since he'd hit the scene, but it would all be in due time once he came up.
From the ounce of lil weight he was pushing, he was nowhere near where he intended to be.

Since a young one he'd always been strategic about his bread. Intrigued by the fast money, the women that came with it and even enemies. Coming from practically no where, dirt poor definitely set his sights on different values than the average teen.

Neglect can do that sometimes, with solance being your only confidant it'd be almost impossible to trust anyone other than yourself. However, after a failed robbery from a rural food mart due to starvation and homelessness at the age of seventeen, he questioned if his existence and life even had meaning to begin with. Nearly losing his mind.

Luckily he was granted clemency, on account of serving minor community services. With this, Mezee was even enabled to finish schooling, earning his diploma within the same year of the misdemeanor.

And even with a squeaky clean record, the feeling of angst and homelessness still dawned over him. From running the streets as an orphan, the city slums practically raised him. Nothing had changed. That was until the same judge that'd granted him clemency adopted him after finding him sleeping behind the dumpster of her husbands' famous diner Chottsy's.

From the savoring aroma of roast beef sliders, collards and endless fellowship, Chottsy's felt a lot like home, if he'd ever known what that was.

Owned by The Hemins, a working-class family of three including their youngest, Jessie who was only three years younger than Mezee, founded
their family enterprise on the foundation of soul and nourishment. And the kid definitely had heart, if anyone could see it, it was Mrs. Ida.

Not only did he gain the support he'd been lacking, but also a family.

He loved them, but Mezee just wasn't like them. He'd forever have respect for Mrs. Ida and the Hemins family, but hate for the system.

They wanted Mezee to go to school and pursue a career he was passionate about. But all Mezee was passionate about was being set for life.

They just operated in two different realities. So when Carlos, his foster brother, approached him about a business opportunity he couldn't resist, he was all ears.
