Chapter 2: Sorting Ceremony

You and all the other first years walk up to the steps of Hogwarts when you are greeted by a lady. "Hello first years, I am professor McGonagall. In a moment you will enter the great hall and be sorted into your houses, there are 4 houses. Ravenclaw, Griffyndor, Hufflepuff & Slytherin. Each triumph you complete will earn your house points throughout the year. At the end of the year 1 house will be awarded the house cup." She says. "Now all follow me this way" all the first years follow her through big doors where hundreds of eyes are fixated on you and all the other first years, you are stopped infront of a stool with a hat on it. "When I call your name you will come up and get sorted." She calls out almost everyone's name when you hear "Draco malfoy" he sits on the stool and before the hat even touches his head it yells "SLYTHERIN" you give him a small smile as he walks over to the Slytherin table, after a few more people have been placed you hear your name "y/n y/l/n" professor McGonagall calls. You confidently walk up to the stool and sit down, the hat sits on your head for around 4 seconds before it yells "SLYTHERIN" you smile & walk over to the Slytherin table where you sit next to Crabe. Dumbledor does a boring speech welcoming the first years, soon after thats over food fills your table. You dig in and soon after you are stuffed, after the feast is done the head boy takes you to the Slytherin common room in the dungeon, it's very cold and dark down there but you don't really mind. After the head boy explains everything you head to your dorm, you share a dorm with 4 other girls, pansy Parkinson, Millicent Bulstrode, Daphne Greengrass & Tracey Davis. After you are settled in you get ready for bed, you drift of to sleep quit quickly.

It's the next morning & it's your first day of classes. You awake to your alarm going off, you sit up & look at your clock the time reads 6:01 am. You quickly get up & wash you face before putting your Slytherin robes on. You excitedly skip to the dinning hall with Pansy, Millicent, Daphne & Tracey. Once there you find a seat in front of Draco, Blaise, Crabe & Goyle, you & your friends chat with the 4 boys while eating, once done the 9 of you walk to your first class. You have potions with the griffyndor's & professor Snape, your excited because you love potions, once you arrive you all find seats in the middle row, you wait a few minutes before Snape comes bargaining in. "There will be no silly wand waving or incantation in this class room, is that clear?' He says. All you do is take notes all class, you finish your other classes & it's soon time for lunch. In the dinning hall you and the others talk about all your classes. "muggle studies was a nightmare! What even is a TV?!?" I say to the others, they all laugh & nod. Soon enough lunch is over and you go to the rest of your classes, the day went by quite fast. After dinner the 8 of you are sitting in the common room chatting amongst yourselves. "Well i best be heading to bed, night guys" you say. "Yeah we all should it's getting late." Pansy says, the rest of the girls follow you up to the dorms where you all get ready for bed. "Tomorrow we have flying lessons, are you guys excited?" Millicent says, you all nod before drifting off to sleep.

You've been at hogwarts for a month now & you & draco have become closer friends, you know your mother & father will be happy with the newfound friendship between you two.
You have decided to write to your parents about how the first month has gone, you read the letter quietly to yourself.

𝒮𝑜𝓇𝓇𝓎 𝐼 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝓌𝓇𝒾𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝑜 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓈𝑜 𝓁𝒶𝓉𝑒, 𝐼 𝒽𝑜𝓅𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝓊𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇𝓈𝓉𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝐼 𝑔𝑜𝓉 𝒸𝒶𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓊𝓅 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝓈𝒸𝒽𝑜𝑜𝓁. 𝒴𝑜𝓊'𝓁𝓁 𝒷𝑒 𝓅𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝑜 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝐼'𝓋𝑒 𝒷𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓈𝑜𝓇𝓉𝑒𝒹 𝒾𝓃𝓉𝑜 𝒮𝓁𝓎𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝒾𝓃 & 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒻𝑜𝓇𝓂𝑒𝒹 𝒶 𝒻𝑒𝓌 𝒻𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓃𝒹𝓈𝒽𝒾𝓅𝓈, 𝓎𝑜𝓊'𝓁𝓁 𝒷𝑒 𝓅𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓀𝓃𝑜𝓌 𝐼 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒻𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓃𝒹𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝒶𝓁𝒻𝑜𝓎𝓈 𝓈𝑜𝓃. 𝒲𝑒 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒷𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝓆𝓊𝒾𝓉 𝒸𝓁𝑜𝓈𝑒, 𝓈𝒸𝒽𝑜𝑜𝓁 𝒽𝒶𝓈 𝒷𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓊𝓈𝓊𝒶𝓁, 𝐼 𝒶𝓂 𝓉𝑜𝓅 𝑜𝒻 𝓂𝓎 𝒸𝓁𝒶𝓈𝓈 𝒾𝓃 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓎 𝓈𝓊𝒷𝒿𝑒𝒸𝓉. 𝐼 𝒽𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓃 𝒷𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓉𝓊𝓉𝑜𝓇𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓂𝓎 𝒻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝑜𝓌 𝒸𝓁𝒶𝓈𝓈 𝓂𝒶𝓉𝑒𝓈. 𝐼 𝒽𝑜𝓅𝑒 𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝒾𝓈 𝓌𝑒𝓁𝓁 𝒶𝓉 𝒽𝑜𝓂𝑒, 𝐼 𝒸𝒶𝓃'𝓉 𝓌𝒶𝒾𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝓈𝑒𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝑔𝓊𝓎𝓈 𝓈𝑜𝑜𝓃.

𝐿𝑜𝓋𝑒, 𝓎/𝓃.

You put the letter into an envelope & seal it with a Slytherin stamp. You give it to your owl & say "to mother & father." She then flys away into the distance soon disappearing into the white clouds. You then go to the common room to your friends, you all then begin talking about the quidditch game this Saturday. "After the stunt malfoy pulled he got potter put on the quidditch team." You say, malfoy rolls his eyes at your remark. "But that wont make a difference griffyndor is still going to loose." Says pansy. "Yeah true, are you guys all coming to the game?" You say, they all nod. Soon enough it's time for your next class, you have DADA with professor quirille, you and all the other Slytherin have a strong hate for him as he has no idea what he's doing. You all walk to class & take a seat, quirille goes in about random things that have no relation what so ever to DADA. After that dreadful class is over you head back to your dorm for some studying while your friends go get dinner, you didn't go because you weren't very hungry. After a hour or so of studying your friends are back you help them study. Once that's all over you get ready for bed, you hop into bed & read for a little before finally going to sleep. Its now a Saturday & you get up & get ready with the other girls for the day, while getting ready you talk about the quidditch game that's being held later. It's not for a few hours so you all decide to go to hogsmead, once there you go into all the shops and buy heaps of things, even some new books as you've read most of yours already. You then meet up with the 4 boys at the three broomsticks & all enjoy a butterbeer. You all head back to the castle and get ready for the first quidditch game of the year.
