Chapter 7 (ATR)
I've had a rough past in the boyfriend section. I've tried and tried to get another boyfriend from when I was 17 but it never gets past one date. When I was 17, my boyfriend of 2 years and I were in a car accident. I thought he was the one I would spend the rest of my life with. He was everything I was looking for. He was perfect. And the best thing was he loved me. Or so I thought. I was in the car with him and practically unharmed. All I had were a few broken ribs and a sprained knee. My boyfriend wasn't that bad either. We sat there helplessly waiting for the ambulance to come. Right before they got there, he said,
"I love you. But I think it's more of a sisterly love. Move on, find a great guy that will treat you right and really love you."
From that moment on I was practically non-responsive. The only person I would talk to was Ellie and that was only a yes or no practically. I say there for days not eating or drinking. I couldn't move on. Since then I've tried to find my "soul mate" but it never works. I've never had a relationship last more than 1 month. Of course, I'm just a freshman in college, but most of my friends have serious boyfriends.
"Lynnley?" Louis whispered quietly.
"Yes Lou?" I asked in my morning voice.
"Can I talk to you?" He asked in a whisper.
"What time is it?" I asked putting my glasses on.
"2:37.." Louis drifted off.
"In the morning?" I asked.
"Yea..." He said sheepishly.
"Well this better be good." I said. "Why don't we get some tea and talk?"
"Okay. I love tea!" Louis said and skipped down the hallway to the kitchen. I walked behind him wondering what he could possibly want to talk about at this ungodly hour. I always told him I was here to talk and now he's taking that opportunity.
"Here you are love." Louis said and handed me a cup of tea.
"Mmm. Smells good. What kind?" I asked.
"Apple and Cinnamon." Louis said with a smile.
"Okay. So what did you want to talk about?"
"Okay, well I couldn't sleep so I was thinking. Tomorrow is your last day with Lux. So how will we keep in contact? I don't want to lose my new best friend..." He said with a smirk but was still serious.
"There's these things called phones. We could swap these things called numbers if you want." I said like I was talking to a 5 year old.
"I'm glad you agree to that." He said with a laugh. "We can still hang out and stuff right? I don't go on your until this summer so I mean we have got some time to hang and get to know each other better!"
"Of course we can still hang out Louis! Just not at 2:46 in the morning." I said with a laugh. "I really do think I'll miss this. Ha!"
"I'm going to miss it too love." He said and hugged me.
"Anything else Lou?" I said.
"Uhhhh. No. I just wanted to talk about that." He said kind of uncomfortable. I just shrugged it off and gave him a hug. We stood there hugging for what seemed like an eternity before he let go and kissed me on the top of the head.
"Thanks for being my friend LouLou." I said with a smile.
"Thanks for being my friend Lynn." He said.
"Louis?" I asked. He turned around and looked at me questionably.
"Yes?" He said.
"Will you carry me back to my room?" I asked like a child.
"Alright silly goose. Up we go." He said as he picked me up bridal styles and walked me up the stairs. He set me on the bed, pulled down my covers, took off my glasses and whispered,
"Goodnight Lynnley. See you in the morning." He kissed my head leaving my forehead with a tingly feeling. As I was drifting off to sleep, I could have sworn I heard him say,
"I love you."
But then again, that could have been what I was wanting to hear.
