The world has changed over the years. Dragons and Humans are at war, all for one reason. Hybrids. Hybrids, half-human half-dragon creatures, have populated the earth because of some... *weird* humans and dragons. Hybrids are born in human form, but get their features at age 16. And that's when I come in. Hi, I'm Wren, a Hybrid.

Here, let me start over. Hi! I'm Wren Harkings, a proud student of Avenox Highschool, the best school in Avenox. Yeah, I live in a small town called Avenox. Not very interesting. Ooh! But one thing that is cool is that my dad's the mayor! Then again, he's specist. If you don't know what specist is, its basically like racist but with species.

Anyways, I'm sure you want me to get to the interesting stuff, right?

"No shit sherlock!"

Oh, shuddup Jamie! Anyways, as I was saying. What was I saying again?

"The interesting part?"

Oh right! Anyways, onto where my life turned to shit.

"Wow, that was probably the worst transition I've ever heard."

J-Just move on!

It all started on a Monday...

*alarm clock starts to go off*

"Five more minutes..." I wearily say. Annoyed by the continuing beeping of the clock, I reluctantly get up and check the time "8:30? Eh, I've still got- Wait, 8:30??!" I was late. I quickly get up and...

Nothing. I just kinda stand there. I don't feel like moving. I look around the room and try to urge my legs forwards. My whole body was just kinda like "I don't wanna", I guess.

I start slowly forcing my legs across the room to my hickory dresser. I kinda just stare at it as I force my arms to open it and grab my uniform. All of a sudden I snap out of this entranced state and am able to move faster. I quickly put on my uniform and run into the kitchen.

My mom's reading the daily magazine that the paperboy throws onto our doorstep every day. She looks up at me and simply says "Morning. Your breakfast is on the table and your lunch is in your backpack" as if this happens every day."You missed the bus, so you'll need to take the car"

Now, this piques my interest. "Take the car? Do you mean-"

My mom stops me mid-sentence. "Your dad's driving you. He needs to go to a council meeting anyways."

"Damnit, so close." I say half-joking. I stuff the cold eggs down my throat as I run and grab my bag from the front door.  "Well, maybe I'll be able to drive tomorrow. Y'know..." I paused to see if she would answer. When she didn't I continued. "Cause it's my birthday tomorrow? 16?"

"I know hon, now hurry up to school!" She called, but somehow in a worrying tone. Little did I know, that worrying tone would end up being for the biggest thing that's ever happened to me.
