Trent's POV

"If you're not nervous, it means that you don't care." Something Tiger Woods said throughout the course of his career.

It was also something that I reminded myself throughout my time at the Liverpool Academy and during my breakthrough onto the first time.

I'd pretend I wasn't but I was nervous before every game whether it was a friendly or a Premier League game. No matter how much you get used to something it doesn't change how you feel about it.

Training drew to an end for the day as we all headed back to the dressing room, various different conversations evening had throughout the team as we walked.

I was excited and nervous for today. I didn't actually expect Katie to agree to coming over but she did and mum was over the moon about it. Katie was like the daughter she never had.

"I've never seen him with his head so up in the clouds." The sound of Robbo's voice brought me out of my thoughts as curiosity got the better of me.

"Who are you talking about?" I asked as I swapped out my cleats for trainers.

"You." Several of the boys exclaimed in response causing me to jump in surprise at their sudden outburst.

"What?" I said as I placed my boots into my bag.

"You've been in this la la land today. What's up?" Ox questioned.

"Nothing." I assured them as I stood up and threw my bag over my shoulder.

"What's the rush?" Joe wondered.

"Does somebody have a date with a certain photographer?" Jordan teased causing the boys to 'ohh'

"Grow up." Even though I was younger than majority of my teammates I felt the need to say it as I rolled my eyes.

"Enjoy." Robbo called after me as I left the dressing room and my teammates behind.

I shook my head and laughed slightly as I walked through the halls of Melwood on my way towards the car park. As much as the boys always found a way to annoy me, they did have my best interest at heart and are some of my closest friends.

"Trent-." Mum's voice called out as I closed the front door.

"Can't talk mum. Have to shower and then go collect Katie." I replied as I dropped my football bag by the front door before taking the stairs two at a time.

"Trent, stop." Mum appeared in the hallway as I reached the top of the stairs.

"What mum?" I wondered.

"I know you're nervous for Katie coming over but she was your best friend for 18 years. It's gonna be find." She assured me with a smile. She always knew exactly what to say and when to say it.

"Thanks mum." I smiled in reply before heading for the shower only to find the bathroom door locked and the sound of the shower running coming from inside.

"Marcel I swear to god hurry up." I called out as I knocked my fist against the door. He always had the worst timing when it came to things like this.

"Hold your horses." He yelled back from inside as I heard him turn the water off.

"You know what time I get home from training yet you still can't be out of the shower before that." I told him as I grabbed a towel and waited for him to exited the bathroom.

"Hey, gotta look good for your girlfriend coming over." He teases as the bathroom door opened and my younger brother walked out.

"She's not my girlfriend." I replied before walking past him and into the bathroom to take a shower.

"But he wants her to be." I could hear Marcel's voice say to someone before I turned on the water and drowned out the noise of conversation from outside the door.

——————————

"Katie!" My mum was the first person to pull her into a hug when Katie and I arrived back at the house after I picked her up from her apartment.

"Hello Dianne." She replied with a smile when mum finally released her.

"You've grown so much." Mum said as she placed her hand on Katie's shoulder and simply smiled at the girl she considered to be a daughter of her own.

"My turn." Marcel called out as he butted his way in between mum and Katie causing the brunette photographer to laugh as my younger brother pulled her into a hug.

"Hi Marcel." Katie laughed as she hugged him. I rolled my eyes at the look Marcel was giving me as I knew what he was implying.

Both Tyler and my dad were next to give Katie a hug before mum informed us that dinner was ready so we all headed into the kitchen to eat.

"So Katie how has work been?" Mum questioned as we all took our seats while her and dad put the food on the table in front told us.

We ended up spending the evening talking about Katie's job, her life since she moved, our lives here in Liverpool since she had been gone and everything in between.

It was fair to say that my family absolutely adored Katie and she felt the same way about them. They were just as happy as I am that she's back and hopefully after the documentary is finished she'll stick around after that.
