The day of the wedding arrived. It was September 1st. Although Phil and I wanted a church wedding, we figured that because I am gay and he is bisexual, the vicar wouldn't particularly like it. So we went to Gran Canaria. And Gran Canaria is probably the most beautiful place I have ever been to. We stayed in a 5⭐️ hotel which had a pool area and a spa and a club and so many restaurants. The weather was so hot; I was a sweat bomb. Anyhow, I had to put on my tux and get into the limo that would take me and my family to Maspalomas. Phil had a separate limo which would take his massive family. Phil and I had many discussions about who was going to stand at the end of the aisle. In the end, we decided on me as I am taller - just.
I can clearly remember the moment I saw Phil walking down the beach with his mother and father behind him. He looked so amazing, and plus, he had a tan. As Phil reached the end of the aisle, he turned to me and kissed me on the cheek. The ceremony began.
"Do you, Phillip Michael Lester, take Daniel James Howell as your lawful wedded husband, to look after him during sickness, health, sorrow and happiness until death may part you?" the priest asked.
"I do." Phil replied as he smiled.
"Please take this ring as a sign of your marriage." PJ, the ring bearer and best man, handed Phil the ring to put on my finger. It had the word 'danisnotonfire' on it. I thought that was so cute but something Phil would definitely say.
Then the priest told me to put my ring for Phil on Phil. Phil gave me the brightest, kindest, most loving smile as I slid the ring on his finger. I could see his mum out of the corner of his eye blubbing away and his father trying to comfort her. Then I said my vows.
"Do you, Daniel James Howell, take Phillip Michael Lester to be your lawful wedded husband, to look after him in sickness, health, sorrow and happiness until death may part you?" the priest repeated.
"I do." I said, nearly crying of happiness.
"I now pronounce you lawfully wedded husbands. You may kiss." the Priest said with a beaming smile.
And so we did.
