George sat there, blankly staring at his computer screen. A couple long minutes went by before he turned his head to look out the window. The sun had yet to set, but the sky was beginning to turn into a darker shade of blue. It was one of those rare days when the sun was out. It was quite pretty. It made him disappointed that he didn't get to see most of it, because of how late he woke up. Once his mind averted from the sky, he remembered why he felt so perplexed. Dream.
'Why did he do that?' George wondered. There is no reasonable explanation for it. He could feel anger swelling up inside of him again. Bringing his hands up and pulling his hair, he let out a long sigh. 'It's not his fault though.' George paused, taking his hands out of his hair and gripping his chair. "Wait, of course it was!" He said out loud, surprising himself.
George's mind-war got interrupted by his phone ringing. He picked it up and brought it to his ear, not even thinking to check the name. "Hey George... it's Clay. I need to give you a formal apology. I wasn't really thinking in the moment, and I took the joke way to far," Clay chuckled softly, "And I think in the back of my head I did it because I really want to see you in person, you're my best friend and I've never even met you, ya know."
George was still silent, so he kept going, "You obviously don't need to go, I can just pay for it, but it would be great to see you." George thought for a second, his anger completely subdued. It was hard for George to stay mad at him. "Sure."
"Really?" The excitement could be heard in his voice. George giggled, "Yeah really." He thought, and then spoke again, "Don't you know you're going to have to show me your face, right?" The line went silent, until Clay spoke, "Yeah... but I'm okay with that, it's not that big of a deal, unless you start falling for me or something." Clay wheezed which made George giggle a bit.
"Yeah, sure." George said sarcastically, "There is a much greater chance that I will see your face and then fly right back out of pure disgust." This time, they both broke out into full-on laughter.

It was around midnight, and George and Clay were still on call with each other. It was always super easy to talk to him, which is one of the reasons why they became best friends so quickly. They were mostly talking about what they were going to do once George got there, along with some boring planning stuff.
They were in the middle of discussing the best bowling alley around Clay's house, when George remembered something, "Wait, where am I going to stay?" George had completely forgotten about that, and he wasn't in a big mood to pay for a hotel room for how many days he was planning to stay there. "I was thinking you could just stay at my house," Clay cleared his throat before speaking again, "I wasn't going to just buy you a ticket and then force you to spend money on hotel costs!"
George laughed at that, feeling better now that he wasn't about to have a huge dent in his bank account. Also, that just means more time to spend with his best friend. "My apartment only has one room, but you can sleep on my couch. It's pretty comfy," Clay stated. George could hear shuffling from the other end of the phone, he assumed he was lying down. George looked at the time. "HOLY SHIT IT'S 12:30!" He yelled, startling the man on the other side of the call.
"You called me at 7:38. What is that, like 5 hours?" George exclaimed. No wonder he was so drowsy. George could hear wheezing on the other end, he was trying to catch his breath. "Yeah, it went by so fast!" He was still laughing from George's shock. "I think I'm gonna go to bed, I have the drunkenly-tired giggles," George laughed at that, "Mkay, goodnight Clay."
"Goodnight George. I love you." George playfully scoffed and hung up the phone. He might as well go to sleep earlier to fix his sleep schedule before the plane ride. George changed into his pajamas and got in bed, pulling the cold covers over his warm body. He usually has trouble falling asleep, but that night he fell asleep right away.

And that's chapter 2! It's so weird getting used to writing again. All I've been writing for the past two years are essays. It's so much fun creating this story!
I would love helpful feedback, and don't hold back, I want to get better.
