With one final zip, George finally finished packing. He sighed, sitting down on his bed. It had been 4 days since the whole "surprise trip" thing that Clay scared him shitless with. The days were mostly filled with filming and editing so he wouldn't have to do as much once he got there. But now, sitting there on his bed next to 3 packed suitcases, he didn't know what to do. He finished everything he needed to and didn't feel like booting up his computer.

After thinking for a couple seconds, he decided it would be fun to go to the beach to watch the sunset. George got up and put on his shoes, quickly grabbing a sweatshirt just in case before walking out the door. His house was super close to the beach, so he decided to walk. He mostly sits inside anyways, so it would be good for him to get some sort of exercise. Once George got onto the sidewalk, he got a text. It was Clay.

Clay🤠

Are you excited?!

6:24 pm

Georgie🥵

Yup. Super excited to see what you look like!

6:25 pm

George cursed to himself. That was probably a weird thing to say. It doesn't matter what he looks like because he's just his friend. Deciding to forget about it, he put his phone back in his pocket to look where he was going. It was getting pretty close to sunset, so he ran the rest of the way there.

Sitting down on a big, cold rock, George shivered. Good thing he brought a sweatshirt. He slipped it on over his head and looked out over the water. The rocky UK beaches were not the prettiest, most stereotypical type of beaches you would see in a movie. They were almost completely made of pebbles, not sandy at all. The sunsets were nice to watch though. Light yellows and blues slowly transformed into dark blues and pinks as the sun set below the horizon. They wouldn't even compare to the ones he will see with Clay in Florida though.

That got him thinking back to what he texted to Clay earlier. George had a problem with slipping up and saying weird things to Clay from time to time. He didn't really understand why it was just him, he acts completely normal with everyone else he knows. George mostly hoped he wouldn't slip up when they were together in person. Because unlike texting and calling, George couldn't hide behind a screen.

What was Clay gonna look like? George had a feeling he wasn't going to be ugly. If he is really good looking, it will be hard for him not to stare. He has a problem with staring at people for too long to the point where they notice, and it becomes all sorts of awkward.

What am I saying? I'm straight.

George had been so lost in thought that he hadn't noticed it was completely dark out. Feeling worn out from all of that thinking, he got up and walked home to go to sleep.

Now standing in front of the airport with all of his luggage in hand, it all started to feel a lot more real. George was about to meet his best friend for years for the first time. Nervous feelings bubbled into his body as thoughts started to cloud his mind. What if it's awkward? What if Clay is actually completely different in person? What if-

No. George shook his head and walked into the building, focusing on the sound of the wheels of his luggage clicking against the cracks in the floor. After going through all of that airport stuff (I haven't been to an airport in so long don't attack me), he walked onto the plane and sat down. He resorted to tapping his foot on the ground rapidly to release some of his anxiousness.

George woke up to a tapping on his shoulder after napping for 3 hours. The tapping was from a nice-looking lady wearing a blue and white uniform. "What would you like to drink?" She asked, gesturing to the cart stocked with multiple kinds of beverages. "I'll have some green tea,"(hehe British) George said, pulling down his little table. Once the lady left, he downed the scolding-hot drink and fell right back to sleep. He wasn't going to risk having to think more nervous thoughts.

The plane landing woke George up. He got his stuff and quickly walked off into the new airport. The busy, bustling nature was completely different from the airport back in the UK. People were chatting on phones and to each other, while dragging their kids behind. Everyone was either wearing a tank top with sunglasses, or a tank top with flip flops. All of their skin was at least 3 shades darker than his. George quickly ran over to the corner in order to breathe, and text his friend.

Georgie🥵

I'm here. What are you wearing?

10:36 am

Clay🤠

Nah. I'm going to find you. What are you wearing?

10:36 am

George looked down at himself to see him wearing a dark blue t-shirt and gray shorts.

Georgie🥵

I'm wearing a dark blue t-shirt and gray shorts.

George sent the text and waited. He suddenly heard a familiar voice yelling his name. He spun around to see a tall, sandy-haired boy running towards him.

Woop woop they are finally going to meet! Sorry the story is starting off so slow. I promise it's gonna get spicy real soon.

I would love helpful feedback, and don't hold back, I want to get better.
