All seated in the car, Nick, Sam and Mrs. Garcia somehow found themselves all too busy thinking the events through, hoping something would come out differently. Nicholas was so filled with hope that Johnna just wasn’t the culprit, that the real one is someone else, and that this murderer would be caught and taken care of properly real soon. Nicholas was still also preoccupied with questions, new ones now. He let curiosity burn on about how and, most especially, why Johnna’s name was found where Hermeine died, if it was a clue or a distraction. He somehow also gave room for the fact that John was at Johnna’s residence. He still wondered what he was doing there, having forgotten to have asked Johnna personally when he had the chance.

He scanned through the photos and tried to find anything quite different in it, anything out of place. And after a while of analyzing, finally, something caught his attention. In one of the photos that showed Johnna’s name. He noticed that the penmanship on the first four letters of the name somehow showed a fading effect of the blood; ‘n’ having been quite faded but still legible. But he also noticed the very slight change of the red shade of blood; that the last two letters were suddenly too dark to fit the effect. Nicholas first thought that Hermeine must have just used another finger when the amount of blood on the first one ran out. But when he analyzed further, he found that, yes, her hands had blood on them, but only on the palms and on only one finger – her right index finger. And then he thought again that maybe she dipped the same finger for more blood to finish the name, and finally allowed the waves confusion and little of the frustration to wash over him.

Nicholas looked closer and found something bigger this time. It rang through his ears and span in his mind endlessly. He found a precious hint. A key.

“Sam, have you analyzed these pictures – the ones taken by the reporters?” Nicholas asked urgently.

“Well, I haven’t really looked close enough to call it analyzing. So, no. Why? Did you find something?” Replied Sam while looking at the picture Nicholas was, at the moment, staring intently at.

“Yes. Look at the name written on the floor and then tell me what you have observed,” Nicholas said as he handed Sam the photo, the urgency still in his voice.

It took a while for Sam to see what Nicholas meant about the picture. And after a few minutes of staring at the same picture, a smile of success and understanding finally appeared on Sam’s face, and then he spoke. “Whoa, Nick. Some sharp eye you got. So, what other proof do you have to support these?” Sam asked, clearly amazed.

Mrs. Garcia understood the situation even while driving, what with silently listening to the conversation. She looked at the two boys seated behind her and gave them a reassuring smile. “Nick, lets discuss this even further when we get back to Hermeine’s residence,” Mrs. Garcia told them.

Nicholas gave her a nod and then continued scanning through the photos for any possible evidences that may serve as proof that Johnna wasn’t the culprit; that he did was the criminal after all.

When they finally got back to the Alexandria’s, they directly went inside the house and secured the area to further discuss about the photos.

“Okay, Nick. Please proceed. Continue about what you saw in the picture.” Mrs. Garcia began.

Nick showed them the photo and slowly explained every detail he noticed from the simple image. “In the photo we showed Johnna back in her house was her name written in Hermeine’s blood,” Nicholas pointed out the picture of the blood-written name on the attic floor.

“Yes…” Mrs. Garcia trailed off in a questioning manner which asked Nick to continue.

“Well, it’s something like this; the dark shade of the blood the name starts out on the floor fades, but only with the first four letters. Look, when it reached the last two, the amount of blood here seems a lot thicker,” Nicholas explained thoroughly, hoping that Sam and Mrs. Garcia understood him.
