The sun was rising, and the fireflies were fleeing with the moonlight creatures close behind. The daylight creatures woke in all their subtle glory, waiting for the last of the moonlight creatures to descend back into the earth. They climbed down from their trees, the sqarls, the binos, the ferts, and all the other untamed wildlife, swinging from vines and climbing the wood that was carved by their paws and hands over the long years. They scurried about the forest in the early morning sun, over the fallen trees covered in moss and fungi, across the small windey rivers using natural stepping stones, anywhere the felt like going, doing whatever business daylight creatures do in the forest.
In the emerging light, a small, magical glow bloomed in one of the forests small corners. Some little critters were attracted to the strange light, and decided to see what was the cause. They skittered over, four small binos at the tender age when curiosity is in its prime, up to the big tree with the mysterious glow emitting from behind it. The binos small noses sniffed the air around the tree as they circled, eager to see the other side, for nothing exciting ever happened in the remote forest.
The four furry friends turned the corner and saw the source. It was a flower. It had red petals that curved inward, resembling a devils curled hand, only inside the hand, just hardly a centimeter from the palm, was a tiny flame, totally unaffected by the wind blowing around it. Holding the flower by its plucked green stem was a pair of pitch black fingers, only they weren’t just black, they seemed to be a sliver of the void, winding the infinite down to a point that made the fingers that held the magic flame-spewing flower.
The fingers led to a hand, a hand to an arm, and an arm to a torso with a head just as infinite as the rest of the form. There was one thing noticeably different on this void in the form of a human, and that was its eyes. They were a constant white glitter that fell over its face, disappearing at the chin, but every time one glitter would disappear there was a new one or two to form at its eye sockets. Remarkable yet simple.
The binos were very taken aback indeed, though the form had taken no notice of them. In fact, it seemed to be asleep, motionless as it was. Though it baffled them as to how it could sleep with its eyes what they were, and the fact that it didn’t seem to be a daylight or a moonlight creature. One of the braver binos moved in, closer to the unaligned void holding the magical flower. Now, binos are very small creatures, nearly soundless when they speak to one another and almost mute when they move, but this form had been trained in all aspects, listening included. As soon as the bino entered the sound threshold bore by the black form, the figures head instantly jerked over at a speed that would have snapped its neck should it have been the stuff of flesh and bone. The bino let out a startled squeal, its bladder suddenly helplessly loose. The black figure slowly angled its head down to peer directly at the nervous puddle forming under the small furry animal and let out a soft chuckle.
The bino was frozen in fear, its paws a warm wet that was sure to smell for the the entire day. It shivered as the dark form got into a crawl and inched its way forward, closer to the emptied animal. The bino watched as a hand of the void reached over to it and squeezed its fat little belly that hung out from both sides and got lifted up, the pressure from the fingers squeezing out a few more drops, and plopped onto the infinite palm. The impact wasn’t hard, in fact it felt kind of pleasant, like he was walking on water but without getting wet. The bino looked down at the surface, and was surprised to see the lush green grass of the forest floor under his tiny paws. His view on the land had a dark tint to it, with black smoke swirling inside the palm, it noticed that the liquid excretion from its fat little body flowed right through the hand, dripping onto the soil below.
He felt the dark creature move again, and was placed on the figures chest which had a comfortable warm emitting from it, and felt a finger rub his head and continue down his spine. The other binos saw that this wasn’t just any sliver of the void, but a friendly piece of the infinite, and barrelled in as quickly as their plump little bodies could carry them, claiming spots all over the transparent torso.
The figure looked at the weird little creatures that it had befriended, hearing their snores as they dreamed of napping in other places. The form took its gaze from his new friends and looked at the flower it held in its hand. It knew it should get moving if it was ever going to make it to the first checkpoint without the boy catching up first, but it needed rest, so it decided that it would move triple pace when it woke up. With the comfort of his newfound friends, the slice of the infinite void laid its head back and dozed off.
