Chapter 7

"Yunlan! Yunlan!"

I stop in my tracks as I hear someone screaming my name. I turn around to find Da Qing running towards me. He stops in front of me and bends down huffing trying to catch his breath.

"Huh...uhh...huhh...uhhh...Y-You.....Why.... not....stop....."

"Are you drunk early in the morning"

"Who's drunk you bastard! I have been screaming your name, why didn't you wait for me"

"You are too slow" I begin to walk again with Da Qing following behind me.

"I just woke up 10 minutes late. Couldn't you wake me up sooner"

"I tried to wake you up but you kept saying 5 minutes. I even kicked you but no response. Stopped bothering later"

"How can you kick your roommate who was kind enough to take you in"

I abruptly stopped in my tracks and he bumped his nose. I hated people showing sympathy towards me. I turned around and glared at Da Qing.

"Hey! Hey!" He raised his hands in defeat "Don't give me a death glare Yunlan. You are the best roommate I could ask for....heee... heeee"

I ignore him and again continue my walk. I was staying with Da Qing for a few weeks now. Wei was kind enough to help me get a roof above my head. Even though this idiot is annoying as hell, I could manage around him. After the fight in the cafeteria Wei made sure his friends were nice to me. Da Qing started getting attached to me and also follow me wherever I go, even to the bathroom. My only option was to not give him any attention and just ignore him.

The days in my school would pass away normally and no one was causing any trouble for me. Wei made sure we always had lunch together and that I would mingle with his friends. Now we all sit together and study in the library after our classes. I was just worried about Wei, these days he has been getting very tired and sometimes he gets dizzy. Even when I know what the outcome is going to be I cannot help myself but wish for him to get better.

I reach my school and the bell rings announcing the beginning of our classes. I join Wei and my other friends who are already present in the class. There is a rumor flowing around that I and Wei are in a relationship. People started talking behind our back whenever they see me and Wei taking care of each other. Wei has been very attached to me lately and would always make sure I don't have problems in the school. I never let anyone close to my personal space but whenever Wei takes care of me I feel as it is the right thing to do.

Whenever we get teased for being a couple I never get angry or offended by the comments but feel that it is where he belongs. I would see Wei blush whenever someone teased him, but he would change the topic sooner. Hence, it is difficult to understand if Wei thinks anything about the teasing. We never discuss about this nor do anything about the rumor. In fact it does look like we are a couple and I like the hear of it.

"I am sooooo bored! Cant we do anything else than study!" Ling Jing cried desperately.

"Stop Whining Ling! We have exams around the corner" Gelan said.

"I know darling, but it's still so boring"

"Shut up! You are disturbing everyone"

We all just shake our head and continue reading. Wei would occasionally look at me and help me if I had any problem in my studies. He would always give this bright smile of his which makes me lose my mind. I try my best to ignore the feeling and concentrate on my studies.

As I was reading my book I feel a hand slide on my shoulder and I look behind me to find the wile creature standing behind me with her creepy smile.

"Yunlan honey! What are you doing here? You should sit with us and not this disgusting people"

I slammed the desk and got up turning to face her angrily.

"These people are disgusting, you should never sit with them. The more disgusting is this guy with glasses on. Trying to get sympathy just because he has cancer."

She turns to Wei "Why don't you just die so that Yunlan will be freed from your clutches. You stinking gay! Because of you people think my Yunlan is gay like you. Why don't you trap someone else and leave my Yunlan alone"

I was really shocked to hear anyone say such a nasty thing to Wei. I could see Wei was slightly trembling and keeping his head low. I saw a teardrop fall on his book and that was the last straw for me. I never hit a women but this time I grabbed her collar and punched her hard.

She plumped down on the ground screaming and grabbed her nose which was broken and bleeding by my punch. Wei had rushed from his chair and tried to stop me from killing her.

"Yunlan! Stop it! What are you doing? You will get expelled for this!"

"Let me go Wei, I will kill this bitch. How dare she say such things about you"

"Stop it Yunlan, please!"

Wei held me tightly and was desperately pleading me to calm down. I could feel Wei trembling, so I slid a hand and held him by his waist. He buried his face in my chest and I blocked him from everyone.

"Zhu Hong, I am so much disappointed and disgusted by your behavior. I cannot believe that you would think such a dirty way to criticize someone dear to me. If it was not for Wei I would have killed you by now"

"Yunlan! How could you! How could you hit me. Don't you love me anymore. You hit me for this disgusting homo."

"Love? Do you know the meaning of love bitch? Was cheating behind my back with several other men is the definition of love for you? I cannot even believe I used to date such a disgusting person in my life. Never again come in front of me or else I will make sure you don't exist in this earth anymore. If you speak any ill against Wei, I will search the whole earth until I make sure you are dead"

I heard a soft whimper and look down to see Wei burying his face deeper in my chest. Looks like he does not like what I am saying. I quickly turn around with Wei in my arms and walk out of the library leaving his friends behind.

We walk outside the library and sit below a tree in the campus garden. We sit side by side without speaking anything to each other.

"Yunlan?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you date Zhu Hong?"

I could hear the curiosity in his question and I sigh "I did and it was the biggest mistake in my life. I was a careless person back then and didn't bother whom I dated. I would dump people if I feel them boring. I just agreed directly without any questions when Zhu Hong proposed me. I even knew she was cheating on me but I didn't bother. Later I dumped her as she was starting to get on my nerves."

"How about now?"

"Now....I am back to my senses and would never be what I was before, a reckless person"

"Hmm......Yunlan?"

"Yes?"

"What do you think about me being gay?"

"I.....I didn't know you were gay until now. I have no objection of you being gay and I am fine with it. This is not going to change our friendship if you are worried about that"

"Yes....friendship....I was worried but now.... am not"

I looked at him and he gave a painful smile back at me. Which made me think the reason for this painful smile.
