The heavy door shut with a loud thud, as the wood settled into its home. The gentle click of the latch engaged and the soft grind of metal confirmed it's destination. Booted feet thudded against the solid concrete floor. The faint glow of moonlight beyond the windows, gave the only hint of color to the room. It was dark and cool, as though it was cut off from the rest of the world. Tucked away in the woods, far from the compound, the shop remained dark and quiet. A soft blue glow coming from the cobalt dagger, casting faint shadows on the walls and floor.
"Alright, Azure." Ada's soft voice, a whisper as she spoke out. "I need your sight." Her callused hand reaching out, so that the tips of her fingers may move smoothly over the broad side of the blade. With that, a subtle breeze picked up from across the room. The large shutters covering the window swung open and the dagger glowed brightly. A blue fog grew about her eyes, as her vision of the dark shop faded away.
The compound lay far below her. Large evergreen trees passed below her. Her eyes taking notice as they swayed to the rhythm of a soft midnight breeze. Distant lights were coming into view, as her vision settled on a small, simple cabin. No smoke drifted up from the cold chimney, as the night sky reveled in it's glittery glory.
Her body felt the warm fur of a wolf come forth, as she felt the descent to the land beneath her. It was not long until her large paws were gripping to the cold, damp sod outside of the cabin. Her eyes fixing on an open window as she slowly lifted herself up on cautious feet. Her nails digging into the ground, she felt the life being drained from it. Heat sprang up in her chest as she pushed it back. The land should have welcomed her gladly, yet it felt that the land beneath her cowered before her. The pang of sadness in her chest was brief, as she continued toward the opened window.
Her strength refocused on the task before her. She could feel the waning power of a fae. Her furry paws gently pressed against the window sill as she lifted up to view inside. Her eyes saddened as she took in the view of the room. The only light coming from the moon above her. Faint sounds of short and ragged breaths could be heard. She forced her eyes to focus on the figures about the room. Along the far wall were several forms, tied tightly in their positions on the floor. The blue hair of one fae stood out against the moonlight. Her eyes took in the face of the others that were with her. She continued to scan the walls, as her eyes fell quietly to a softly groaning Male in the corner.
His dark hair, black as pitch and his skin pale as snow. It wasn't his hair or skin that said who he was, it was the glistening scale on his cheek that spoke of his identity. The urge to burst in the room was slowly pushed low in her heart. One reckless act, that's all she could afford. Her hazel eyes closed as she summoned every ounce of strength within her body. A glistening cloud swirled about the limp body of the Male and quickly dissipated.
His gray eyes blinked slowly, as color began to return to them. The familiar gold glistened back at her, as he looked to the black wolf. Her emerald eyes widened as she took in his sorrowed expression. The magick in the chains that held him began to glow faintly. The color in his eyes gradually drained away, seeping back to a dull gray.
It was hours that she watched with awe and concern as his body returned to the weak state he'd been in when she arrived. It was then that she noticed the blue haired fae was also held in the same bonds.
Her front feet lifted her away from the window and back to the floor. Her drive to find the reason for this barbaric treatment spurring her forward. Her anger palpable as she moved with purpose about the facility. Though the cabin held captives, the rest of the area was absent of most life. Small night creatures that should have been about and fleeing from her, were not present. Her thoughts lost in the strange silence of the night, as she moved among the brush behind the cabin. No other buildings were visible and no path that would lead away from the building back into the rest of the forest.
