The distant sound of birds chirping and the leaves rustling from the cold crisp morning air. The sun beaming through my big window near where I was sleeping. The smell of pancakes and bacon fills the house. My heavy eyes slowly open to the sound of my alarm. Today is the day, today is the day of the beginning of the moving journey.

Our belongings should be there today since the movers left last night to head over to California. Since we are going to be down there a day later than the movers we had rented a storage unit for them to put our belongings into. This means all we have to do is transport all of the boxes using our car and having other movers help with putting bigger furniture in.

I prop myself up on my bed so I am sitting up. I reached over to my phone to look through Instagram, nothing interesting. I gain the strength to get out of my makeshift bed and get dressed. I decide to go with a white crop tank top with high waisted comfy yoga pants. If you can't tell I love crop tops and yoga pants. I ended up also wearing a creme color knitted long sleeve cardigan.

Once I was somewhat presentable I went downstairs to get some breakfast that was made. "Good morning mom and dad," I said rubbing my eyes and yawning. "Mornin' sweetie," my mom said. My dad was to bust shoving his face with my mom's homemade pancakes. "Did you get a good night's sleep?" she asked. "Yea it was good but I can't wait to sleep in my bed again in our new house," I replied excitedly

I took giant bites of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with a drizzle of maple syrup. "Hey mom, have I mentioned before that these pancakes are delicious," I said to her. "Yes sweetie, countless times," she replied. Once I was finished I walked over to the sink and cleaned off my dishes with warm bubbly water. "Thank you for cleaning your dishes, now go pack your bags we are leaving in two hours," my dad said to me.

I made my way up my stairs for the last time. This is it, the last two hours in this house that I've been in for a while. I get up the stairs and I take a deep breath. I'm going to miss this place, even though I didn't have many friends I still made some good memories here with my parents and other family members.

I get to my room at the end of the hall and I open it to an almost completely empty room. My suitcase, back bag, some clothes, my makeshift bed, and other small things. I sit on the ground and open my suitcase up. "Time to get some more packing in, hopefully, this is my last time pack here," I said to myself. I put on some music to make the time fly by.

About an hour and a half later I finish my packing, I ended up getting distracted and watching some tv shows on my phone, but in the end, I finished getting packed. My mom walked into my room and asked "You all done in here, we started loading up the car about fifteen minutes ago." "Yeah, just finished actually, I'll be down in a second with my stuff," I replied. My mom nods and closes the door behind her.

Wow, its already time to leave, that did sure go by fast. It feels like yesterday when we had moved into this house. I still remember how excited I was when my parents opened the door and showed me the house for the first time. It's like my eyes sparkled from the excitement that I had. I have a feeling that this will happen yet again.

I grab all myself from my room and took everything downstairs to the front door. I paused before walking out, I placed my things down on the ground. I turned around and took one last look at one of the places that I once called home. I started to get a little emotional because I am going to miss this place.

I wipe my tears away from my eyes and I grab my things and took a step outside of the house. I grabbed the handle of the door and slowly closed it taking a deep breath in. Once I hear the click of the door I know that a new period of time is going to start. I slowly walk to the car sitting out in the driveway where my parents and leaning against the car waiting for me

"I know it going to be hard leaving this beautiful place but remember to get to see all your old friends again in California," my mom said while hugging me. I rolled my luggage bag over to the trunk of the car and my dad puts it in the trunk for me. I then make my way over to the back of the car.

I threw all my road trip stuff into the back seat with me because I am going to either fall asleep or want to play games, draw, or watch tv shows. All I know it that is it going to be a long drive to California. So long that we have to spend two nights in a hotel. A nonstop road trip would be about eighteen hours long. I don't know about you but I would not want to drive that long either.

"Alrighty everyone this is the start of our new journey to our new house. Is everyone buckled up and ready to go," my dad asked. "Yes honey," my mom replied. "Uh yeah, I am buckled and ready to get this show on the road," I told my dad, who started the navigation instructions and pulling out of the driveway.

And just like that two years in Seattle, Washington is a memory for our family. I look at the house as we start to drive off. Goodbye house, I said to myself as we turn the corner no longer able to see it. I settle into a more comfortable position and pulled out my tablet and started to draw.
