Twilight sat upon her new throne.

A creature of pure magic and power.

A goddess of friendship.

A princess of royalty.

The purple mare's wings were softly tucked behind her, chest puffed with grace and head held high.

She had just finished getting her crown length measured.

Even though she looked calm and collected, this future ruler of Equestria was battling her own inner demons.

Relax, Twilight. You've got this. We've got this, together.

She took a deep breath, sucking in the smell of the grand castle. She just couldn't believe it. Never in a million years did she see herself become the next ruler.

She was just a stubborn little unicorn student of Celestia's, keen to learn more about magic and hungry for knowledge.

That one day she was sent to Ponyville had entirely changed her whole life. She knew it was destined, she and her five friends.

She smiled, thinking about all the adventures they had faced and challenges they conquered.

The mountains they had scaled and the seas they crossed.

The monsters they defeated and the enemies they've reformed.

All those times that they had together led up to this very moment.

Twilight let out her breath. "Twilight! I have great news!", a voice beamed from behind the royal doors. The massive castle doors flew open, revealing a tiny purple dragon on the other side.

Spike was waving his hands at Twilight, sprinting towards her excitedly.

Twilight smiled at the sight of her assistant, who had also been family.

"What is it, Spike?"

The throne room was humongous and had a long hallway. You could fit the biggest dragon here, and he wouldn't even be able to reach the ceiling. It took the baby dragon a minute to finally reach where Twilight was, huffing.

"The... the bakers finally...t-took my idea!", he puffed in exhaustion.

"They're gonna make a whole 500 pound cake topping out of gems!" Spike's eyes sparkled in anticipation.

He licked his chops, imagining the sight of the cake. Emerald, rubies, sapphires, his personal favourites— all piled onto a freshly baked cake.

Twilight chuckled. Classic Spike, she thought.

The future ruler was stood on the balcony of the royal castle, purple eyes gazing across the horizon of Equestria.

The alicorn's mane was swept back by the cool autumn wind, wing feathers slightly fluffed.

She took in a deep breath for what seems like the 30th time that day and spread open her wings. Taking in the sight of the land before her. This is peaceful.
There was a long stretch from the ground to where she was.

She looked down upon the people. Her people.
Guards were marching around the castle, heads halt high and ready to protect their princesses from any threat.
There were some ponies strolling along the fancy streets of Canterlot.

From where she was, she could get the best view of the Sunset. Soon, I would have the sun and moon's control... hopefully I am ready. Am I ready?

Navy blue faded softly into purple then an orange hue. The sun shone bright over the ocean, giving the waves a beautiful shimmer.

The stars were starting to come out. Twilight lifted her head up to look at them and take in the beauty of Luna's night.

The sky was now a beautiful twilight, as the day came to an end; dusk. A new day lies tomorrow.

I need to get to bed soon. Hmm, my hair is getting a bit longer. I'll probably trim it this weekend, this week's gonna be a busy one. Twilight thought as she listed it down on a scroll.

She turned glanced once more at the picturesque view. The sun was now dipped below the sea, stars and the moon hung fully visible in the night sky.

Eventually relaxed and satisfied, Twilight Sparkle walked back into the warmth of the castle halls.

Tomorrow's a big day.
