Aurelia sat down next to Dylan. They were at Aurelia's home. Leah had gone for getting groceries. Dylan didn't ask her anything because of the look on her face. She looked sad. They sat there looking around when Aurelia finally spoke -
"Dylan? Why do you like me." she asked turning towards him. He could see her teary eyes.
"I am so messy. I can't do anything right. I am complicated, twisted. I am so stupid. I overthink everything. I am probably not even worth anything. I am insecure about everything. I -" she was getting a panic attack now. She got up and started breathing. Tears were rolling on her cheeks.
"Hey- hey. Come here." he said getting up and pulled her in for a hug. She was crying. He wrapped his arms around her and held her. It felt like ages since someone had given her a warm hug. She didn't pull away. She needed it right now. She was still sobbing.
"I like you no matter what. You are exactly my type. Your mind, is amazing. It makes me think deep about things i never thought about." he was still hugging her. The warmth of his body gave Aurelia goosebumps in a good kind of way. They stood hugging each other for sometime before pulling away.
"I am sorry, i made your hoodie wet." she said wiping her wet eyes with her sleeve.
"Oh its totally fine." he said smiling.
"I wanted to tell you something. Its actually....i don't know how to say it."
"Go on."
"I am in depression." she said. Tears were again coming. She couldn't stop them. " I just don't want you to leave me like everyone. I only have you." she said between her sobs. Dylan was shocked."I am not leaving you. Come here." he said and hugged her again. She couldn't stop crying. Dylan rubbed her back.
"I am sorry. I am making your hoodie wet again." she said looking at him. Her cheeks and lip were cherry red."You wanna talk about it?" Dylan asked her. "You know they say, if you open up your heart to someone, you feel a bit relaxed." he said and kissed her forehead. She nodded and pulled away. She wiped her eyes and cheeks.
"So remember when i told you, i didn't have a boyfriend? Well it was a lie. I did. But he mentally abused me. Sometimes i felt so suffocated, i couldn't breathe. And then i got bullied by my classmates because of some things. My friends left me when i needed them the most. They thought i was faking the whole thing. That's the reason i didn't want to be close to you." she said and sat down on the grass.
"Can i ask you something?" Dylan sat down beside her.
"Yeah sure."
"Why don't you get therapy?"
"I am scared. Its that my parents don't understand me. I have seen their reaction towards mental health." she said smiling."I can help. My aunt, Paisley is a Phycatrist. She can help you. Want me to talk to her?" Dylan said looking at her.
"But what about the money?" she asked him.
"She does it for free." when Dylan said this, a light of hope sparked in her eyes. She got a warm feeling in her stomach.
"Sh- she does?" she said looking Dylan. He nodded. She put her hands on her mouth. Omg. Someone could help her.
"So...shall i talk to her?" he asked looking at her.
"Yes- yes." she was still in shock. She was getting therapy for free. She had to calm down or soon she would get a panic attack. She breathed deeply. Everything was going to be ok now.
"Can i ask you one more thing?" Aurelia asked Dylan.
"Yeah. Go ahead."
"Did you know Avalynn?" she said.
"She was one of my best friends back then." Dylan didn't tell her about what had happened that night."And Louis?"
"Well i guess you already know about that." he said. She didn't want to ask further questions about this."Let's go to my room." she said and got up. He followed her inside. They went to her room.
"So did you read your book?" she asked sitting on her bed. He sat beside her.
"Yeah just some pages left. Are you going to be there for my match?"
"Of coarse. How could i miss it?" she said looking at his green eyes. She had surely drowned in them. And she couldn't help it.
"Can i tell you something?" he said looking at Aurelia.
"Sure."
"Actually you deserved better than that asshole." he said staring at her.
She just nodded in agreement."I should probably go wash my face and change my clothes. You can wait here." she said getting up and going towards her closet. She took out her hoodie and wore a peach t- shirt. Then she wore leggings. She went to the washroom. Dylan was going through her bookshelf. She washed her face with soap. It made her feel fresh. After wiping her face with her towel she went and saw Dylan lying on her bed reading a book.
"What are you reading?" she said climbing on her bed.
"Its Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur." he said checking the cover. This book was gifted to her by her then best friend, Kacy. They had been best friends since elementary school. She ended their friendship because of a rumor that was spread. Those times were crazy.
"Oh. I love her. She is just too inspiring." she said lying down beside him.
"Really? I like her poems." he said looking at her. He just wanted to kiss her right now and tell her that he is always there for her, no matter what. She turned towards him as if she got to know his mind.He was staring at her pink lips. She noticed it and moved closer towards him. They moved closer and closed their eyes. He slowly kept the book down. She could feel his breath on her cheeks. Her heart was beating faster. He kissed her lips slowly and deeply. She placed her hands on his neck pulled him closer until their bodies could feel each other. He carefully placed his hands on her waist while kissing her. Her lips were soft. He gave them a last peck before pulling off and keeping his forehead on her hers. She opened her eyes and smiled, looking at him. He smiled back.
"I am never going to leave you. Everything is going to be ok now." he said and pulled her in for the warmest hug she had received in years.
