                          ~Nishinoya POV~

ah, so today is the day.

I groaned as I sat up in my bed, rubbing my eyes. I look around my room trying to wake myself up more when my eyes land on my calendar.

7/28

I'm going to college!

I jumped up remembering what day it is. I don't bother to check the time and run downstairs wanting to spend as much time with my mother as possible.

"Morning Mom!!" I cheerfully said while reaching the bottom of the stairs and looking towards the kitchen.

"Good morning hunny! Looks like it's finally the big day!" She said while standing up, walking over to me. We embraced each other and held the hug for a while.

"I have a lot planned for today." She said, peeling away from me. Now you might be wondering where my father was. Well just a few months ago he decided to apply for the military. It was something about 'saving the population'. But I'm not mad or anything, I'm not one to decide what he does in life'

"Now go get changed Nishi, we're going out for breakfast!" She exclaimed grinning from ear to ear. I immediately smile back and run back upstairs to change.

Since high school, I've only grown a few inches. Probably about 5'4 now. I know, still not pretty tall but I can't do anything about that! Also, I'm still pretty close with a few members of the team which I'm happy about.

This might be surprising, but my two closest friends are Asahi and Tsukishima! I know, Tsukki, the salty blonde. But he's actually really cool! At one point I thought I liked Tsukishima, but I soon realized we were just best friends.

As soon as I got back upstairs I decided to text one of the group chats I'm in.

Noya: yo guys! Today is the day I'm finally going to college!!

Tsukki: Really? That's amazing Noya

Suga: That's awesome Nishinoya!

Ennoshita: Good luck bro!

Noya: Thanks you guys :)
Noya: Hey, has anyone talked to Asahi lately?

Suga: Actually yeah, I've noticed he hasn't been active for the past week. Tsukki have  you talked to him?

Tsukki: I tried calling him the other day but he never answered

Suga: How about you Ennoshita?

Ennoshita: Nope, not me either.

Noya: Weird.. oh well, I'll try calling him later. I'm gonna go spend the day with my Mom, I'll text you guys later!!

Suga: Cya Noya!

Tsukki: Later bro

Ennoshita: Byee

I set my phone back down I went to my closet to pick out an outfit. It was pretty hot out since it was summer, so I went with some light gray baggy jeans, red converse, and a yellow and pink striped t-shirt.

I rolled the bottoms of my jeans up and put my white socks on. I then slipped my shoes on, out my phone in my back pocket and ran downstairs.

"Awee cute outfit!" My mom said while standing up from the couch.

"Mom! Really?" I said, blushing a little from embarrassment.

"What? It was a compliment!" She replied while walking over to grab her keys and purse.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Let's just go get some delicious breakfast now!!" I shouted.

This was honestly one of the funnest days ever. Most people don't like hanging out with their parents, and would rather hang out with their friends. But it's actually really nice to spend time with my mom.

First, we went to one of my favorite breakfast places and got my favorite meal. Then, we went to the arcade and played some games. My mom is actually really good at gaming! After that, we went to the park just to walk around and talk.

And lastly, we went to our favorite restaurant and got matching meals. I kinda thought I was gonna cry because I won't be seeing my mom for a long time, but I knew I was going to see her again.

"That was delicious" My mom stated, getting into the car and closing the door.

"Sure was" I replied. It was kind of an awkward silence after that, because we both knew what was coming next. My mom had to drive me to the train station so I could get to where my college was.

"You sure you put all of your stuff in the trunk?" She asked, while turning the car on.

"Yep.." I quietly answered. She didn't say anything after that and just pulled out of the parking lot.

                           ~2 hours pass~

We arrived at the station about 20 minutes before the train got here. It was pretty empty except for a few people sitting and standing near where the train was going to arrive.

I looked over to my mom and saw that she was looking down, a few years trickling down her face.

"Mom.. it's going to be okay, I'll visit a lot!" I said, trying to cheer her up. She looked up to me and smiled. It was one of those, 'your all grown up now' smiles.

"I love you so much, and I'm going to miss you Nishi.." She said while leaning in for a hug. I hugged back, and we stayed like that for about a minute.

"Now go, before your late." She said, peeling away from me. I nodded and slowly got out of the car. I closed the door and waved through the window. She waved back and I started heading over to the trunk to grab my bags.

Once I had everything, I went back over to my moms window and motioned her to open it. "Bye mom, I love you." I said, giving her a kiss on the cheek after.

I could tell she was about to cry, and I wanted to cry too. She smiled, and closed her window, starting to drive away. I waved at her car until I couldn't see it anymore.

man, what a day.

I sighed and readjusted my bags, starting to walk over to the station. As I got there, I noticed about 7 people there. Two tall businesses men, a mom with her child, two teenage girls, and a short young adult.

Nothing was out of the ordinary, except that the last guy.. looked really familiar. His height, he was just about as tall as me. And his hair.. it was bright orange. But then something caught my eye.

He was carrying a black duffle bag, and inside of it was a volleyball. But not just any volleyball.

It was a volleyball from the high school I went to..

wait.. could it be...

I slowly walked up to the bright haired boy and tapped on his shoulder. He turned around and that's when I realized.

"Shoyo..?"
