WIN'S POV
It's the start of a new school year. My friends, Gun and New decided we should go for a quick coffee run before going to our 10 am class. I was waiting in line when I got a text from Bright.
'Where are you?' The text read. I smiled to myself and was about to type a reply when Gun interrupted me.
"Why are you smiling like we're not forced to wake up this early for a class we're forced to enlist to?" He checked my phone and rolled his eyes. "Ohh so that's why. The boyfriend who's actually not your boyfriend texted you."
"Why are you in such a bad mood? Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today?" I smiled then proceeded to say my order to the barista.
'Getting coffee with Gun and New before class.' I texted back.
'You should've asked me to go with you. I want coffee too.' It hasn't even been a minute but he already replied as if he was just waiting for my text.
'You big baby! You know I got you coffee now stop whining.' I giggled after typing.
"People in love are so disgusting. What's there to giggle about when it's so early." New rolled his eyes. God, my friends are not morning people.
BRIGHT'S POV
I smiled to myself after receiving the text from my best friend. As I was placing my phone in my back pocket, I bumped into someone and all of her belongings fell.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry." I said and immediately picked up all of her things. After collecting everything I looked up to apologize again and was stopped by how beautiful the woman who was standing right in front of me was.
She giggled when she realized I was already staring.
"Thank you for picking up my things." I snapped out of it and scratched my head shyly. "It's no problem at all. I'm sorry again for bumping into you."
There was an awkward silence between us before she smiled and started to say her goodbye.
"Well I'm new here so I have to get going. Still trying to look for my room." She smiled again. Does she ever stop smiling? I saw that as my opening to spend more time with her.
"What's your class? I can walk you to your room as way to apologize as well." I grinned. Thank you, Lord.
"You don't have to! I don't want to bother you." "It's no bother at all." I answered fast. I'm not letting this chance go.
She got the piece of paper from her bag and showed me her schedule.
"You bumped into the right person. We're blockmates. I'm Bright by the way." I offered her my hand.
"Gigie. It's nice to meet you, Bright." She took my hand and I swear I felt electricity run through my whole body.
Right after getting to our classroom we sat down beside each other and engaged in small talk. When she excused herself to go to the restroom I got my cellphone and opened my group chat with Tay and Off.
'Guys, I just bumped into my soulmate. I know I'm marrying this woman.'
10 minutes before the class started, I realized that Win still hasn't given my my coffee so I decided to text him.
'Hey where are you? Are you okay? Classes are about to start and you're still not here.' Just as I was returning my phone to my back pocket I heard the ring tone specifically set for Win.
'I got dizzy. I won't be attending class today. Let me know what I miss.' By the tone of his text, I already knew something was wrong. Win didn't text like this.
'What's wrong? Send me your location and I'll go to where you are.' Minutes passed and I still didn't get a reply. Just as I was about to leave the classroom, the professor entered and I didn't have a choice but to stay.
WIN'S POV
I was prepared for this. The inevitable fact that Bright would someday find someone, a girl he'd look at the way I look at him. Someone he'd care for the way I care for him. I've always known Bright wasn't interested in men, least of all me. I was set to love him even though unreciprocated. I always knew that we were never gonna happen so why do I feel physical pain in my chest by the sight of him with another girl?
