A/N: The whole fanfic will be in Kousei's POV, also sorry if I get things wrong (spelling or just facts idk anything) if you correct me I'll probably go in and edit it, also thank you for giving this a chance.

"Thank you so much for everything but I gotta go." I was still in my suit and a bit sweaty from my performance.
"Of course kid, bye." I think she understood why and where I was going.

It's raining, but I don't care.
Without anything holding me back I sprint to the hospital. I need to be there for Kaori, she never gave up on me so I need to do the same for her. I'm the reason she's doing this in the first place. I guess I feel a little guilty because what if she doesn't make it and her parents pay for a surgery that didn't work?
"It will work, it will work" I repeat to myself, wheezing.
I walk into the hospital, soaking wet. I take the stairs to Kaori's floor, the elevator wouldn't take as much time but there are probably other people who need it, and I have too much nervous energy to stay still. I see her parents sitting in the chairs next to the operation hall, I walk up and sit next to them. They looked like they had been crying, and nervous. After around ten minutes of silence I finally ask them the question that's been bouncing around in my mind.
"Is she okay?"
"We don't know, they said the surgery was supposed to be over three hours ago but they haven't told us anything."
"Alright, thank you."
The silence continued for a few seconds before Mrs. Miyazuono spoke.
"I found this in her room, it's addressed to you. You don't have to worry, however tempting it was I didn't read it."
"Thank you." I stood up and bowed. Then my phone rung, I pulled it out of my pocket and saw it was Watari.
"I'm going to go answer this outside, thank you again."
I bowed and walked to the stairwell and answered it.
"Hey! Arima the last performer just ended where are you?"
"I had to leave early, sorry."
By now I was on the roof, somewhat conveniently there was a corner safe from the rain so I sat there curled up while I talked.
"Where'd you go? Sounds like you're outside."
"Yeah I'm at the hospital, there's no updates or anything on Kaori she's still in surgery."
"Oh, that could be good right?"
"Yeah, I don't want you guys to get a cold if you walk over in the rain for nothing so I'll call you when there's any updates on her condition."
"Thank you Kousei."
"Yeah, talk to you later, bye."
"Bye."
I tap the button on my phone to hang up. I go to put it in my pocket but the letter's there and I decide on opening it. Better than in front of her parents, that could potentially be awkward and I suppose they'd get curious.
So I open and read it.
