Update: Grammar edit
George felt sick. The music only made it worse. He stumbled out to the balcony trying to find his friends in the backyard.
"Stupid party, stupid Clay, stupid Nick, stupid..."
He grew quiet when he spotted Clay dancing with some girl next to the pool. He tipped her over and they both fell into the pool, rising up from the water and laughing. George rolled his eyes and slid the glass door open, walking back into the house.
"He'll just have to drive himself home then..."
George mumbled to himself. He felt tired, angry, jealous.. and upset. He opened the door and slammed it shut, getting bent out of shape over every little thing. He sat on the brick steps and sighed, trying to ignore the muffled booming music. He heard whispering and turned to see two silhouettes hugging each other leaning on each on the pavement. George just about lost it if it hadn't been for Darryl who also just walked outside.
"Oh, George, Clay was looking for-"
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM!"
George yelled while throwing his red solo cup at the road. He felt tears threaten to leak out his eyes.
"Hey..hey what happened?"
Darryl asked while comforting George.
"He drags me to this party, even when I said I didn't want to go. I told him we were going to leave after an hour. It's 1:00AM! And I saw him dancing with some girl.."
George said the last part quietly.
"It's no good getting upset about that muffin head! How about we get Nick and we all go back! We'll all eat candy and watch movies until we fall asleep."
Darryl suggested. George scoffed and nodded smiling to himself.
"Now let's get Nick!"
Darryl said, grabbing George's hand. They both walked inside and found Nick laying on the table with his head in his arms.
"Nick! You ready to go?"
George yelled over the music. Nick groaned and held his head.
"Yeah.."
Nick mumbled. George grabbed Nick's arm, gently, and walked him to the sidewalk.
"Where are we going?"
Nick asked miserably.
"First we'll get candy, then we go to the hotel room."
Darryl said enthusiastically.
"Where's Clay?"
Nick asked. George looked away with a pouty face.
"He's... occupied."
Darryl said while opening the car door.Time skip
The three walked into the hotel room, giggling about the amount of money they spent on all the junk food they bought.
"So.. in honor of October, let's watch something scary."
Darryl suggested. Nick laughed.
"Listen, all I'm saying is... you and scary movies.."
Nick slurred. George giggled while shoving skittles into his mouth.
"Okay, whatever. But we are still watching a scary movie."
Darryl said sternly while pulling up Netflix. They cut out the lights and all gathered onto floor in front of the two beds.About 40 minutes into the movie the heard a knock at the door. Darryl yelped out of fear, while the other two laughed.
"I'll get it."
Darryl said while laughing softly. He opened the door, to see Clay standing, miserably.
"Oh... um sorry we took up this room. But here's the key to my room, you can sleep there for now."
Darryl said, purposely leaving Clay with no choice.
"Why can't I stay here? It's George and I's room."
Clay slurred.
"Oh muffin."
Darryl said under his breath.
"Because the movie's loud. And plus my room's the nicest."
Darryl explained, trying his best to convince Clay to leave. Clay rolled his eyes, and pushed Darryl back before walking into the dimly lit room. George looked away, upset and uncomfortable, and held himself. Clay sat on the bed and drunkenly mumbled.
"George, do you want to go to my room? It's getting late."
Darryl asked.
"No it's fine, you two should head back to your rooms."
George recommended while getting up. The two left leaving George and Clay behind.
"George.."
Clay said while guilt.
"I don't care! You don't have any idea how upset I was!"
George yelled.
"You have every right to be mad. I was being an idiot! But could you at least let me explain."
Clay asked. George sat on the bed next to Clay and scoffed.
"I could care less."
George said coldly.
"Listen, I wanted to spend time with you at the party but you were against it. I dragged you there so you at least be there, but you didn't talk at all. You looked miserable and I hated it because I felt like you didn't want to be there with me. I got upset and tried to hang out with that girl make you jealous so maybe you'd be clingy and try and talk with me. Instead it did the opposite..."
Clay explained. George felt ashamed.
"Oh and she ended up having a boyfriend... I'm such an asshole."
Clay said laughing at himself in the end. George slumped over and hugged Clay.
"You're an asshole."
George whispered. Clay smiled and hugged George back. The two hugged each other in silence until George let go.
"I'm sorry for bumming you out.. I just felt like all you cared about was yourself and I didn't know you wanted me to go so we could hang out."
George apologized.
"No it's fine, I shouldn't have pushed you."
Clay reassured George. Clay wrapped his fingers around George's. George looked up and put his hand on Clay's face.
"You're so red."
Clay whispered.
"So are you."
George teased. Clay pecked George's lips. They tasted like butterscotch. The end
