JAZMYN POV-
"But why does he have to live with us?" I questioned for the millionth time.
"Because we are the only ones willing to take him in!" Mother groaned, clearly annoyed with me.
"But we don't even know him. We aren't his family." I gave her a dirty look for trying to make me feel bad about the situation.
"Honey, his guardian bailed on him and we have a court agreement to take in anyone that the state assigns us. Besides he's going through so much right now and needs some sort of system for support, just like everyone else in this house did at some point. Now, stop arguing with your mother and go clean up your room and make sure the others do the same." Dad jumped in sternly, making me huff in frustration.
We had been a foster home ever since I could remember. We were always taking in new people and giving them the illusion of family. It became tiring after a while but once we had gained a select few that had gained a basically permanent settlement, we stopped taking others in. You see, everyone that was housing with us now had signed papers to actually stay her regardless of the states wants. Everyone here had actually become like family and adding another person to that just seemed troublesome.
I suppose you could say that I didn't make too much sense with the matter.
"Ugh, whatever. Just know that I'm not cleaning my room because of this, that's just stupid!" I called out as I made my way up the stairs to my bed, telling everyone else that we had been requested to clean.
I thought that my parents and I had struck a strict agreement to not take in anyone else. I was willing to help out with the twins and the other two because they were all slightly younger than me but getting someone the same age just seemed awkward. But I suppose I could make it work considered I didn't really have a choice.

I glanced at my nightstand clock, 7:00, on the dot. He would be showing up any minute. Great. Just wonderful.
I already knew that he would turn into my parents center of attention. Fresh meat to pamper, someone to baby now that I had grown out of that stage and the others had gotten used to how things worked.
"Kids! Get down here!"
I did as he asked, taking my sweet time while the others stampeded down the stairs. Once I got down to the kitchen where everyone seemed to be gathered, apart from the workers of course.
Everyone was sat around the table, luckily we had enough chairs for every one.
"Come join us," Mom stated, pointing directly at a chair diagonal from the twins, signalling that I had no room to say no.
"Alright, say hello to our new house mate, Zeidon." Dad motioned to him, turning everyone's attention to him.
Well at least he was attractive.
