Another fight with my mom I didn't want to go through was about to happen. I didn't waste any time storming upstairs to my room, slamming the door behind me, and quickly locking it. I collapsed on my bed preparing for my mom's first phase of screaming her ass off. GOD. I reached over to my phone and slipped my headphones in. This time I chose a playlist of heavy metal. I turned up the volume to drown my mom's voice out. I let the music consume me and steadily I drifted away on the bout to no where.
I opened my eyes only to find that it was already dark out. Great... I had fallen asleep yet again. AC/DC was blasting into my head and I had a serious migraine. Carefully, I stood up and walked downstairs. I heard the gentle clack of a keyboard nearby: my mom working. I prepared myself for a battle I couldn't escape from. I walked into the kitchen, pretending not to notice her.
" What is up with the attitude, Violet?" my mom yelled, " You come home and feed my bullshit. Am I here for you to just scream at when you need to? Am I just here for you fucking amusement?"
"No," I murmured.
"What, Violet?" she asked.
"No," I said a little bit louder this time.
" What, Violet? I can't seem to here you."
" NO! I SAID NO! GOD!" I screamed.
"Don't say a word to me for the next 2 days. Oh! And give me your phone."
"Mom..."
"DONT TALK TO ME!!"
"Mom, please. I'm sorry. I love you. I didn't mean anything I said."
"No, you learn your lesson."
And she left me there on the kitchen floor crying like a baby. No Advil for me...
