"So," I remove my glasses and clear my throat, recapping everything they told me. The first two nights were way hotter than I thought. "You two had a.. hot encounters during your first two days of meeting each other." I write down a few notes in my journal. "Carter, what led you to learn more about Venus after that first night?"
"Venus was the first girl that wanted to know me for me." He answers while Venus rolls her eyes. "All the other women I have encountered would just hear my name, and they'd think of dollar signs, but not Venus. She wanted to know about my life and my goals." He says as I write in my journal.
"I'm sure he's said that to every woman he's tried to fuck?" Venus says under her breath.
"You think that the first time I saw was that night alone. Dr. Reese, I have seen this woman almost every day since I first stepped foot in that hotel. Whenever she would talk to her dad, I would see her beautiful face and try to come up with something to say, but it would never come out."
"Okay, Venus," I say her name, getting her attention. "Can I ask you a few questions?"
Venus shrugs, "Sure, why not?"
"Where did you and Carter go for your first date?"
She smiled slightly and said, "We went to a park on a picnic on our first date. It was nice and sweet. No man had ever done that." She bit the corner of her bottom lip. I could tell she wasn't trying to smile as big thinking about it.
"Why is that?"
"Every guy I've been with wanted to take me on expensive dates that they could not afford because of who my dad is. Most of the time, I would have to pay for the check. I just wanted a man to spend more time on the thought of it instead of his pockets. I knew Carter could afford to take me to an expensive restaurant, but it surprised me that he didn't." She smiles, glancing at Carter for a split second.
"Did you two go on more dates after you were married?" I ask her
She shrugs, "Not really; with me working and watching our child and him supposedly going out of town for business, we never really went on dates or even touched each other."
"Okay, next question, when was the last time you had sex?"
She shrugs again, "I don't know, maybe a few months ago with Carter?"
"Have you had sex with anyone else other than Carter in your relationship?" I ask
She rolls her eyes, "No? I loved him too much to have ever cheated on him; I guess he didn't feel the same way. What does this have to do with anything?"
"I just wanted to know, you not having sex with any man because you're still in love with Carter?" I question
Venus scoffs, "I don't need to answer this."
"Come on, Desire, answer the woman's question." Carter grins
"Fine, yes, I do. Carter has been the only man I loved besides my father. But to be frank, I would never let this man ever come near me and my body again." And with that, Venus gets up from the couch, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to pick up my child from school. Have a good day." She walks out of the office.
I look over at Carter, who looks sad. "Do worry, it's going to be hard. But we will go deep during these sessions to see if we heal what's broken." I smile and excuse him.
A Few Days Later
"This morning's session, I want to know everything that happened between you two. Of course, everyone has heard the gossip version of your guys' relationship, but I want to know why you, Carter, picked her, and you, Venus, chose to stay with him?"
They were both quiet until Carter open his mouth. "You might want to get comfy because it will be a while."
