Carter and I have been riding in his car for almost two hours. He told me to pack my bags and be ready around 9 a.m. Seeing the view from outside the car, I saw that it changed from the view of the San Francisco waters to acres of grapevine fields.
I feel the car turn into a driveway after driving straight for forever. The first thing I notice while riding up the hill is a beautiful home surrounded by grapevine fields. Once we made a stop in the driveway, an older woman walked out of the house with a huge smile on their face. Carter gets out, and before he can open the door for me, an older man pushes him out of the way and beats him to it. "If it isn't my future favorite daughter-in-law? I've been dying to meet you and see this beautiful face," Carter's father smiled while gently pinching my cheeks.
"It's a pleasure to meet you as well... sorry, I don't know what I should call you?" I asked, looking a little confused.
Nathan chuckles, "That's okay. You can call me either Nathan, Nate, or Papa Nate?"
I smile, "Papa Nate, it is." We both chuckle out loud, but I stop when I see the woman walking towards me. "And you must be Ms. Valerie? It's a pleasure to meet you as well."
She gives me a big hug, "Likewise, dear, and please call me Valerie or Val, whichever suits you." She looks at me and smiles, "Let me bring you inside, it's getting a little nippy out here."
Val and I walk inside, leaving Papa Nate and Carter outside and getting with the bags. The first thing I noticed inside were the pictures of Carter from when he was younger. Even when he was younger, he has always been fine.

Val and I enter the family room and sit on the couch while Papa Nate and Carter bring the bags inside. "So, how has it been with you and Scooter? I hope he's a gentleman?" Valerie ask.
