"YEAH BUT the finances are not managed yet and you keep on taking on more projects." I entered the new coffee shop with my phone on my ear and my laptop bag in one hand."Oh come on, this is not how this works, I thought you could do it, maybe I was wrong." I sighed.
"Get the meeting scheduled first thing today...I'll be there in thirty. Call me when you get this done." I hung up and sat down. I took out my laptop and waited for it to start. I really needed to get a new laptop.
I drummed my fingers on the table impatiently and let out a puff of air.
"You look like a machine ready to power up." I heard an amused masculine voice and my head turned towards the source.
"And you look like you need to brush up on waiter etiquettes." I snapped at the man.
"I didn't know I needed to." He tilted his head and then I realised that he might not be the waiter and I just snapped at a stranger.
I ran a hand through my hair and pursed my lips.
"Because I prefer being called a barista." He smiled. The little guilt that had started to seep in left as soon as it came.
I rolled my eyes and looked around the cafe. There was no one except me.
What?
"I thought your cafe merchandise was pretty popular, I heard that they are like, everywhere." I mused and raised an eyebrow as I contemplated leaving.
"Yeah, we are. Just not when we are closed." He smirked.
"But I thought it was opening today." My face flushed as I realised what I just did.
"It was going to, but then we postponed." He grimaced, I assumed it was not something he was happy with. Neither was I, at the moment.
"So, may I get you something?" He asked finally after I entered the password into the laptop. Another few minutes to load. I groaned.
"No, no I don't want to trouble you, I'll go someplace else." I muttered embarrassingly and looked at my laptop helplessly.
"No, no please stay, my treat. Plus, it kills me that we couldn't open today."
"What happened?" I asked out of curiosity as he made his way to the brown wood mahogany counter and started to move some things.
"My crew boycotted me at the last time, though I know that's not what really happened." He rolled his eyes. "Anyways I am making cappuccino, you want one?" He looked at me and smiled even though his eyes were a different story.
