If I find one more Wattpad book that romanticizes mental health I FINNA LOSE IT!
Y'ALL! PLEASE STOP ROMANTICIZING MENTAL HEALTH AND ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS. It ain't cute, no one's gushing, it ain't funny, nobody's laughing, so please just stop for the love of GOD.
I remember in 8th grade, the movie After came out. I didn't know what wattpad was, but a lot of my friends and classmates were talking about the movie and how cute Hardin was. So, I looked it up on Google and I had to check my eyes. Just the look of the movie cover says it all...there's gonna be some intimate scenes there.
But, like the say, curiosity killed the cat, so I went on youtube and looked at people reviewing the movie and their commentary on it. The videos are usually 20 minutes long and they have small scenes of the movie in them and the reviewer would mostly roast Tessa and Hardin. But when I say that their relationship is TOXIC.
I mean it's more toxic than FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. EVEN MASSIMO CAN'T BE COMPARED TO THIS.
What I find really disturbing is that Mrs. Anna Todd was 22 when she wrote this. Guys, I thought she would be at most nineteen when she wrote this, but no. A whole adult. At least she gave a trigger warning in the beginning, but, like, honey. You should know that this isn't okayyyyy
I heard that even Harry Styles blocked her on twitter...that sucks.
I also read a book where a girl wanted to end her life. Then, from nowhere, some guy comes and says 'DoN't' and they have a full-blown out make out session. Then, she forgets that she was literally depressed a minute ago and she claimes that she has 'found a new life'...all 'cause of one guy.
*I N H A L E S*
IF ANOTHER PERSON ROMANTICIZES THESE WRONG THINGS AND THE READERS ARE FINDING IT OKAY, I WILL NOT HESITATE TO DRAG YOU IN THE COMMENTS! Please, you're ruining teen's imaginations on relationships and mental health.
And you're giving Wattpad a bad name. Go to anyone in town, ask them what do they think of Wattpad and I'm sure one of them will say how messed up it is because of the content there, and they didn't lie. Partially.
If you find one, please let it be known that it's wrong, and I think it's offending to those who are actually having mental issues. Now, you may ask, "how do I avoid romanticizing abusive relationships/mental illness?" Simple.
Do.
Your.
Research.
And I don't mean going on one site and thinking that you're Albert Einstein on the topic, no. I mean go through several webpages, MAKE SURE THEY ARE RELIABLE, and study about them. Not only does it benefit you and prevents you from a mob of angry comments, it benefits the readers so they will know if someone's not right based on their actions.
So, if I see something like this:
Bully: *hits victim* eww, you're such a loser
Victim girl: *cries* please stop.
Bully: *laughs* weak link. *walks away*
Victim girl: *sighs* i love him so much, he's so special to me.
There will be war in the comments.

High schools going a little bit better now, thank God. But I felt like running out of class when we had to listen to "Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes" for studying purposes. I wish I was making this up, y'all.
