The radio on the side table played softly, it was old, the music staticky and soft. But strangely still satisfying. The strange rectangular room was a dark orange. Only a bed, side table, and small couch decorated the room. A ceiling fan hummed in the background, accelerating at a rate that made one fear it would fly right off.
The sun soaked through the white silk curtains and onto the identical sheets. The bed looked uncomfortable, dipping where weight gathered. Which had caused Alfred and Arthur to sink into the middle.
The night before had been a blur of colours, peer pressure, alcohol, and unexpected events.
Las Vegas, every persons dream to go one day if not New York. Alfred had successfully gotten Arthur to come to the states after a hour long argument of Arthur complaining about money and tight time slots, which had eventually ended with Alfred informing Arthur he had cleared both of their schedules and will pay for Arthurs flight.
The two were not dating, no where near close but they did have a strong bond when it came to friendship. Alfred had often liked to call it "Bromance", but unfortunately Arthur did not like that term and would hit Alfred lightly anytime the word slipped.
Sheets rustled, naked bodies turning to find a more comfortable position and slip back into slumber.
Although Alfreds body did not allow sleep. It wanted to wake, get moving, stretch from the nights sleep of being curled up.
Alfreds hand rubbed the skin of his partners chest, its smooth surface had his thumb moving back and forth in a gentle manner. Coaxing the owner of the other body to relax again, which Arthur eventually did.
Smooth metal between his fingers had Alfreds thin eyebrows knit together in confusion and curiosity. It was warm, which means Alfred had had the thing on for quite some time now, or he assumed he did.
His partner stirred, the sunlight most likely had disturbed him since is was shinning directly in his eyes.
After discovering what the metal thing had been, Alfred had stared at it, then at Arthur, then the ring again, looking over Arthur to see one of his hands holding an identical one.
"Oh..my god" he mouthed to himself, panicking and scrambling out of bed. Noticing he was in the nude did not help the situation at all. "Oh my god oh my god oh my god" He mouthed repeatedly, finding his articles of clothing on the other side of the room. How they had exactly gotten there made him blush.
The American was pulling on his shirt when he looked over to see Arthur staring at him. The brit was sitting up right, legs crossed, his hair a birds nest and green eyes half lidded from grogginess.
"Alfred?" His voice was quiet, it seemed he did not notice the thing that bonded the two closer than originally planned. "..yes?" Alfred asked hesitantly, a nervous grin occupying his features.
Arthur had a quick look around at the ugly room. "Where are we?" he demanded to know.
"And what is this?" A pale hand was outstretched for Alfred to see.
"Uh..a ring..?"
"No shit" Arthur grumbled, taking the blanket with him as he got out of bed. "Why do i have it? Alfred, this better be a joke" he glared at the American, his eyes cold and a shade darker.
"Well uh..i.." Blue eyes searched the floor for an answer but found none, not to much surprise.
Last nights memories had Alfred squinting through his thinly framed glasses. "There..okay okay" He cleared his throat and prepared for an explanation.
"Well?" Arthur questioned, letting the sheet drop, while he dressed himself.
Alfred stared for a moment before getting his mind back to where they both needed and wanted it. "I have a horrible migraine" Alfred groaned. "You get used to it" Arthur buttoned up his shirt, smoothening out his clothing.
"Continue"
"Ah, right well, uh, i remember some bits and pieces" Alfred explained. Arthur made a circular motion with his hand, signalling Alfred to keep explaining.
"Lets see..i..remember us being taken out by Matthew, judging by our state we drank, a lot , and we..we left around four..in the morning" A large calloused hand ran through sandy locks. Arthur had not made a word, instead he sat on the small couch, massaging his temples in attempt to rid the migraine.
"You had, gotten piss drunk Arthur" he chuckled. "So much you had given Mattie and I a lap dance, not that i minded much. But anyways, after we had gotten drunk and left wherever we were, we made out in some alley" Arthur glanced up at him with a light blush.
"To but it simply Artie, we had gotten drunk, ditched Mattie, made out, got married, fucked, and now we're here"
The room went quiet except for the radio and humming fan. "Married..? Alfred this is simply a drunken mistake, we can just, what? Get a divorce?" He rolled his eyes and got up.
Alfred was squinting at him, "Why would you call this that? a "drunken mistake" that hurts, Arthur".
"I'm putting it as it is" Arthur said nonchalantly, shrugging off Alfreds hurt tone. "You know what they say Arthur, there are only two kinds of people who tell the truth. Drunk people, and children. We were drunk and said "I do"" Alfred finished his speech with the slam of the door.
Arthur was alone now.
Alfred had left Arthur feeling confused, his emotions clashing and fighting. Trying to dominate each other on who would win.
"Drunk people and..children, huh?" Arthur sighed and got up. "He, what the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?!"
After a tantrum and pain killers, Arthur had tried calling Alfred but had no luck in reaching him. He would have to do it the hard way and find him by foot and witness.
How long of a day this was going to be.
