"Hu-huh?" I asked startled at the sudden confession.
"I feel some sort of attraction to you y/n," Ushi told me, a look in his eyes made it seem like he was a little worried. It soon went away as soon as I saw it.
"Ushi, I value our friendship, I don't think we would be a good couple," I tell him taking his hands. He pulled them away from mine.
"I have a match," He walked away leaving me standing there at the words slipped from his mouth.
I loved Ushi, I cared for him. But as a friend, maybe even a best friend. But I loved Oikawa and cared for him as a subordinate other. Maybe if Oikawa and I weren't dating or Ushi made more moves to show affection I would feel the same. But those things didn't happen and we have to move on. I was just worried this would affect our whole friendship.
I started walking back to where Akiko was mindlessly. I couldn't fully wrap my head around it and felt like I had just lost a best friend.
"Y/n are you okay? You look- well dead," Akiko told me once I sat down on the bench.
"I'm-" I tried to say.
"Y/n! You look so pretty!" A boy ran up to us.
"What?" I asked confused at this.
"I've only seen you in a school uniform, can I take a picture?"
"Oh I don't know,"
"Howl come over here!" The boy yelled to his friend. I didn't realize how much my fan base in the school had grown till now. I wasn't expecting to be treated so nicely and like a celebrity around the people who lived by me. Of course I had some friends around the Japan area also because of me being a famous ace here but this was strange.
"This is nice, we must go," Akiko tightly grabbed my wrist and started running, dragging me with. She ran all the way to the bathrooms where she finally let me go. I caught my breath for a moment before speaking.
"Yeesh, that was something," I laugh Akiko soon joking in.
"Really," She laughed with me.
"Thanks, I didn't know how I was going to get out of that one. I don't want a lot of attention today,"
"Here I have this hat, put it on. We can sit in the back of the stands so no one really sees us," She handed me a hat she had in her bag along with sunglasses and I put them on.
"These are cute, the sunglasses even match with my outfit,"
"You look adorable, now let's go back. I want to see Hajime play!"
OIKAWA POV I thought I told y/n to come today. I mean I know she was grounded and all but couldn't she make some excuse to see her boyfriend. I really wanted her to see me in all my glory since she wouldn't see me tomorrow.
"Hey, snap out of it!" Iwazumi smacked the back of my head causing me to stop thinking and realize what's going on.
"Oops, sorry Iwa-chan," I apologized picking up the volleyball and practicing some sets to myself.
"What's got you so distracted, you can't mess this up!"
"Oh I know, I just can't help but think about her," I mumbled imagining the time we laid in bed together. She had the most beautiful hair, the length of it fit her facial features perfectly. I adored her like some amazing art work made by a famous painter. I wanted to buy this painting and take care of it. I had bought her, well I mean she was now mine and now it was my duty to care for her. I really do love y/n.
"Her? You're not talking about y/n right?"
"Well yes obviously!" I laughed then covered my mouth letting those words slip.
"Wow you really like her, she isn't just some fan girl to you huh?"
"What! Of course not, she is something special. I could never think of her as another fan girl. There is just so much about her that makes her stand out. She is perfect in every way, even her imperfections are somehow perfect,"
"You sure have matured a bit, but now isn't time for this. Let's win!" Iwazumi told me, lightly hitting me on the arm.
He was right, what was I thinking? I needed to get my head back in the game, I had always only adored volleyball so why now was she getting in my head so much?
Y/N POV We found our seats in the back and got comfortable. I was so excited to be able and see my boyfriend play. It help take the thoughts away that Ushi might not be a friend anymore. I hated losing people I cared for, I had troubles dealing with it.
I focused my eyes on the game watching our teams every move and critiquing them. I didn't do it on purpose it was just a habit. I was amazing at Tōru though, he really stood out on the court. I listened to girls cheering after him. I cheered a bit too but didn't want too many people to hear me.
To no surprise our team won. I was so proud Akiko and I ran down the stairs on the bleachers down to the team. They were being crowded by Oikawa's fan girls and more. While running down my hat fell off and I put my sunglasses in my pocket. I was so excited to see Oikawa and congratulate him. I tripped falling on top of someone.
