*Emma's POV*
The room was filled top to bottom with storybooks like the one that brought me here. I pulled a book from one of the many shelves and flipped through the blank pages thinking of what this could possibly mean. The author wrote us to life, he can take it away or change it at any time. I couldn't think the worst, we didn't even know who this author is.
After Henry showed me the secret room with the blank story books, I headed back to Granny's where I had left Killian alone. I stepped inside to see it quite empty, it was around closing time. I looked to the only occupied booth where I left the pirate. My thoughts are racing after what I had just seen with Henry. This author could have written my beginning, but he doesn't get to write my future. I never thought I would be able to love somebody again after Neal, but I was wrong. Killian does something to me, something that makes me feel like I can do so much more than protect a whole town. Or maybe that I don't have to protect it alone. My thoughts get cut off with him calling my name.
"Swan!"
I love it how he calls me that. I start heading over to the booth he is in. Before I can sit down myself he grabs my wrist and pulls me into the seat with him.
"Love, where were you? You left without saying anything." He says.
"I am fine Killian, Henry had to show me something." I replied with a laugh.
"You could of said goodbye."
"I know, sorry."
"It's alright love, you can make it up to me."
"Make it up to you?"
"Yes." He says with a skirmish grin.
"Alright, and how do I make it up to you?"
He holds two fingers to his lips.
"Perhaps a ki-" I cut him off with my lips placed on his.
Once I pull away he says,
"Okay, Swan, you are forgiven."
"Good." Is the only thing I manage to say.
The diner is quiet so we sit close and just enjoy each other's presence. We can finally sit in peace without something going on. I feel exhausted from the long day I have had so I lean my head on Killian's shoulder.
"Tired Swan?" He asks.
"A little." I say yawning.
"I think your more than a little tired. I'll walk you home."
I don't refuse, so I slip out of the booth and he follows. He takes my hand and we head out the door. Storybrooke was quiet, no one was walking the streets except for us. The paved sidewalk was now so familiar I didn't even have to watch where I was going, my mind was only set on home. The quiet was unnatural but around here you have to enjoy every second of it. The walk home ended sooner than I wanted it to. Killian and I began to walk up the stairs to the third floor apartment. We were silent the whole way up, but when we made it to the door of my home I couldn't help it ask Killian a question.
"Killian?"
"Yes, love?"
"Where have you been sleeping since you traded your ship?"
"None of your worries Swan."
"No really."
He looks down at his feet, "A bench by the docks."
"Not anymore." I said dragging him inside the apartment.
"I don't think your parents will approve, Swan."
"You'll sleep on the couch. I don't want you out in the cold at night."
"Thank you love." He said as I unlocked the door both of us stepping inside. I left him standing by the door as I went upstairs to get a pillow and some blankets from my bed.
Once I returned downstairs, Killian stood in the kitchen looking at a picture of Henry and Neal. I set up the pillow and blankets on the couch, then make my way over to Killian.
"It must be hard for him without his dad." He said as I got over there.
"I know, we try our best."
"I'm sorry Swan."
"No need to be. Come on the couch is ready for you." I say as we both head over.
He gets himself comfortable as I turn off some lights, being quiet so I won't wake my parents.
"Thank you." He whispers.
"No problem." I say sitting at the edge of the couch.
I lean down and kiss him.
"Goodnight." I say.
"Goodnight, love." He says as I walk up the stairs to my room.
