*Emma's POV*
"EMMA!" I hear my mother cry from down the stairs. I give a large sigh before I convince myself to get up and see what's the matter. I quickly throw on a pair of jeans and a hoodie over my large t-shirt. I start walking down the stairs and I see my mother with her arms crossed over her chest, and a glare across her face.
"What." I say once I get down there.
"Pirate. Couch." She says pointing at Killian who is surprisingly still asleep after Snow's yelling.
"He has been sleeping on park benches, I can't let him do that. What's the big deal of him sleeping on the couch anyway?"I ask while walking over to the kitchen and opening the fridge.
"I understand you were trying to help, but before we know it the whole town will be living in this apartment. It's fine for now." She sighed. That's all she said before she walked back into her room. I look at the time to notice that Regina should be dropping Henry off, where he gets ready here before going to school. I start to get a small breakfast ready, mostly consisting of toast and coffee since that's as much as I can do without burning the apartment building down. I hear movement behind me, and the walking across the creaky wood floors gives away that the pirate is awake.
"Good mornin' love." He says from behind me. I turn around to face him.
"Morning." I say before taking a sip of my coffee. "Do you want some?" I ask holding up my mug.
"No, I usually stick to the rum."
"That doesn't settle very well in the morning." I say making a face at him.
"Well, when you drink it for nearly 200 years, you get used to it." He laughs.
"Whatever you say Captain." I smile before taking another drink. "Do you want toast at least? You know I am the best at making toast, one of the only things I can do." I say smiling.
"If your so confident about your 'toast' making skills, I will have some. Thank you."
"No problem." I say putting some toast into the toaster.
"And for the record, Swan I think you are capable of more things than you think." He tells me, his face full of content. We gaze at each other for a long while, but the toaster dings and there's a knock on the door. I fix up Killian's toast as he goes to get the door, letting Henry in. Henry barely says a word, he just runs up and hugs me.
"Hey kid, missed me huh?" I said ruffling his hair.
"Yes why wouldn't I?" He says,"I am going to go take a shower."
"Okay." I say kissing the top of his head. "Nice quick conversations, that's unusual." I joke at him.
"I'll talk later mom, in the car. Long story." He tells me before running off in the direction of the bathroom. I grab Killian's toast and make my way over to him by the doorway. I hand him his toast and he accepts it gladly.
"Listen Swan, I have to go, I need to get a few things together. Thank you so much for the breakfast. Can you meet me at Granny's later? There is something I have to tell you." He says.
"Yeah, I think that works. I'll just have to ask Regina to watch Henry again, but that's no big deal. What's going on? Is this like a date?" I ask.
"Not exactly, I just need to tell you something and I'm not sure how to say it."
"That's okay, as long as you're trying to tell me truth. I'll be there."
"Bye Swan." He says kissing my cheek, and quicker than I can reply he is out the door. His kiss left a lingering feeling on my cheek, a tingle that never seemed to go away. I wondered what was going on, what was so important that he couldn't tell me here? Was something going on that I didn't know about? I can't get to far ahead of myself. I hear loud footsteps coming down the stairs and that could only mean Henry was done.
"Okay, mom. I'm ready." He says as he grabs his coat and red and grey striped scarf off the coat hanger.
"Alright kid, lets go. What is this long story you were going to tell me about?"
"Well, you see-"...
