it's been a month since what juyeon liked to think of as "the unspoken" happened... as strange as it sounded, this was the first time he'd really seen minho in a slump over someone besides chan. of course he knew they both still talked but he really wanted minho to be happy... through a change in hair. probably? he wasn't the best at something like that so he asked his friend chanhee to help surprise his gloomy mushroom of a roommate.

minho had been texting jisung more often after they exchanged numbers in a recent date but he still had his concerns in how the relationship would go. he had gotten a good morning text when juyeon swiped his phone away so unexpectedly it took minho a few seconds to realize what had happened before juyeon pocketed it.

suddenly, minho felt lost without it, he opened up his arms briefly before clinging onto juyeon's waist. "juyeonie!! give it back!" juyeon flinched at the sudden grip, trying to squirm away. "yah! yah! just wait a minute, okay!?!" he yanked at minho's loose dress shirt, tugging roughly enough to get him to turn and focus on the sound of the door unlocking.

minho's head tilted slightly as he eyed the door that creaked open to reveal someone with a head of gray and blond hair— not just someone—it was chanhee. "lee know!~" said guest cooed, walking over and hugging him briefly. "i'm here on a mission today— juyeon here has a request."

the cat crazed boy eyed juyeon in particular at that, juyeon smiling although slightly nervous. "uh... minho, i think... i think you might want to have a change in look ! and by that i mean hair.." he gently picked up some locks with his fingers to emphasize what to change.

minho nodded but in confusion. "i see— but why so sudden?" juyeon side eyed chanhee, unsure how to approach how minho had been acting lately. he'd updated chanhee now and then out of concern after all.

chanhee sighed, taking the hint and putting a hand on minho's shoulder. "you've been pretty sad lately and we think maybe a vanity change might spruce things up? even just a bit— just have fun with us! for old times sake!"

the boy in apparent need for a vanity change obliged, he did want to try something new with what ji— by himself. no one influenced him, this is just for him.

"ah, well i've wanted to try a new color!" he toys with a lock of hair. "i was thinking mint... it's my favorite color and i don't know why i've yet to try it yet." juyeon flashes a smile and looks to chanhee who nods. "it's decided then! but... i'll take creative liberty with the hair... just slightly so it's not alarming."

-time skip (yeah i know, this is the cute part but i've never dyed my hair before so...)-

closer to the end of the day of the next day, the boys in the apartment were snacking on tteokbokki while chanhee finished up minho's newly dyed hair. "okay..." chanhee fluffed the hair as he gave it a onceover. "i dunno, is it a lot?" he asked, turning to juyeon for input. juyeon laughs a little before speaking up. "mint with an undercut and tinsel? you were having fun."

at the description alone, minho's eyes bulged having not seen a mirror yet. "is—is it bad!? i can't have sung— gah!" he sits up, quick to walk over to a desk mirror and gawks at the sight. it was new, but did he really pull it off? juyeon walked over slowly and kissed at the hair of his head. "cute isn't it? i'd hope so since i was chanhee's helper today on short notice." he plants another kiss at the side of his head in slight mockery, playfully laughing. "a masterpiece if i do say so myself."

chanhee swats at juyeon's head. "no wonder jisung thought you two were together at first." juyeon frowns and looks to minho who turns and raises a brow. "not the best timing chanhee" minho states with a slight bite in his tone, juyeon biting his lip awkwardly at that.
