louis and i met on the set of enola holmes. i play kate bingham, enola's best friend who is supposedly gentle and loyal. who in the end, falls in love with the viscount tewksbury, who feels the same way about kate.

i knew from the moment we met at the chemistry read that we had some sparks. i mean, he was such a charming london boy. with his casual scruffy brown hair, his brown eyes and that broad smile on his dashingly handsome face. it's impossible not to like him.

right after our first chemistry read work, while i was packing my stuff home, i spotted louis silently waiting at the door of my trailer.

"boo!" he scared me.

"god, what are you doing?" i pushed him slightly.

"i'm sorry i didn't mean to scare you," he said. "i mean, this bad." he scratched his head as kept apologizing.

"it's fine." i brushed it off.

"i'm louis." he introduced himself. i started walking, he followed by. "here let me help you with these bags." he gently took my bags for me.

"i'm y/n." i smiled. "you really don't have to help me." we walked together, the sun's setting and we were like mia and sebastian from la la land.

"y/n. i just really wanted to know you, is that alright?" he asked.

"why?" i asked. "don't you want to go talk to the other people? they're very nice."

"you're nice." he immediately said. "i've been talking to you, for about what, two minutes and i already like you so far." i didn't say anything, i just looked at him and smiled.

"listen, our characters, tewksbury and kate are, uhm," he sounded as if something was stuck in his throat. "-kind of romantically linked. there might be scenes that has.."

"scenes with snogging?" i laughed.

"yes. that. so i was thinking we should grab dinner together. right now? then we can get to know each other more." louis asked shyly. "if you don't feel comfortable, i could go get some takeouts and we could eat together in some place you feel comfortable in? anything is fine really, i just want to talk to you-"

"stop panicking," i laughed more. "louis, i'd love to go get dinner with you. now stop being nervous." i chuckled. he chuckled too. then our eyes gazed into each other's.

we went to a local cafe that night, grabbed some food and chit-chatted the whole night. a night long's conversation turned into days, then into constant talking on the first days of set. millie would join us on set most of the times, and she's always encouraging me to go on more food dates with louis off set.

it was like we were instant best friends, maybe more. we would fool around on set. me laughing at him when he bumps his head on the props during scenes.

us being so joyful during scenes where we have to talk to each other in all seriousness. scenes where i actually have to be gentle to him as my character kate was such a polite young lady, which he always jokingly said, "oh no, y/n you're back! i want my gentle kate bingham back!"

"so you prefer kate bingham then?" i asked.

"course not. i'd prefer you over keira knightley any day, crisp." he patted on my head.

then finally there's the scene when enola and kate meets tewksbury once more when he hid in the huge basket. kate has also came for rescue when tewksbury was hiding in the box. when both kate and tewksbury meet, they were supposed to look deep into each other's eyes, and slowly expressing their thoughts for each other.

"y/n, lou, you both are going to be good at this scene." millie smiled as she stood on the side as we both started filming.

   "and.. action!"

louis's character spoke first, "kate? how are you?"

"i've been alright. i'm here to rescue enola too."

"i-i've missed you." he said. our eyes looked into one another.

"me too. i was so worried when you were gone. i didn't know where you would be and enola was sent away, i had no clue.."

"that's alright, bingham. remember what i said back then? i know no one ever wants us, but it's not true, i want you and as long as we have each other, that's all we ever need." he said. as if he meant it.

the line wasn't in the script.

i wasn't used to improv and my face was blushing. all i did was cup his face, "as long we have each other." i said under my breath.

"CUT!" the director screamed. "that was such a good take and a great improv! good job!" the crew and millie and the extras were clapping. the spotlights were on us, yet none of us has looked away from each other's eyes.

"your face is so ...red." he said, catching his breath.

"i'll just ... go." i said. as i rushed out of the set.
