The chapter starts off with MA arriving at the BSC meeting early, and Kristy basically telling Mary Anne she looks like shit.
Ever the tactful one (and due to the Scholastic censors), she cuts herself off before she can actually say it. The reason MA looks like ass is because she spent all afternoon crying about Logan. Kristy has the decency to tell MA that she knows something's up and asks her if she'd like to talk about it. MA agrees, but only if all the sitters are there to listen to her sob story. Once all the sitters have arrived for the meeting, MA spills the beans about her and Logan. Jessi, like an asshole, pulls the same shit that Dawn did earlier about how MA and Logan were supposed to be together forever. Fucking hell, do these girls know how to comfort their sad friend?
Luckily, Stacey the Slut, I mean, relationship expert, is here to help. She talks about all the guys she's ̶s̶l̶e̶p̶t̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶fallen in love with. Claudia chips in with some guys of her own, and ponders "How come we always fall in love when we're out of town and the relationship can't last?" Oh, Claud. It's because it's only a part of that particular book's plot line. These girls are also tossing around 'love' pretty frequently. Again, they're only thirteen. But then, in the middle of their teenage heartbreak, I spot a mistake! Uh oh, editors!
On page 79, in a book narrated by Mary Anne, it says: "But then Toby came along," Mary Anne reminded me.
Oh, shit! Mary Anne reminded Mary Anne about Toby? Somebody didn't check this book thoroughly for mistakes, huh?
Anyway, the girls continue to talk about their heartbreaks and Jessi acts like an idiot by saying "Ow, ow, ow! All this separating. All this hurting. Ouch." Careful, Jessi, your age is showing.
Then fucking Karen butts her way into this meeting. She calls and wants to set up a fucking sitter for fucking Moosie and fucking Goosie. Her fucking stuffed animals. Kristy wastes some of the BSCs precious meeting time entertaining her idea for a minute and suggesting that she introduce them to some other stuffed fucking animals. Fucking Karen makes me fucking swear.
^ Me to Karen
After that pointless phone call, the phone rings again and it's my other least favorite person in this book. Logan. He is very professional and business-like while arranging a sitter for his little siblings. He says that his parents are going out and now so is he. The date, you ask? Why, it so happens to be Valentine's Day! Logan mentions that MA should come sit, because Kerry and Hunter miss her. And do you know who gets the job? You guessed it! MA actually agrees to this bullshit, but of course she feels like shit because Logan is going out ̶t̶o̶ ̶b̶a̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶n̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶c̶h̶i̶c̶k̶ on Valentine's Day.
^ Me trying to read this book and having to deal with MA's dumb ass, Logan's creepy ass, and Karen's fucking annoying ass.
