Chapter Thirteen

Zayn POV

When you have been lying in bed late at night, your mind tends to wonder. Becca and I talked about whatever came to mind. The most random things came to mind. We laid there talking for over an hour. I turned to check the clock for the time, it was almost midnight. I turned back to face Becca, I study her every feature, her every flaw. Her messy, dirty-blonde hair rested on her pillow, her body laid flat on the bed, her freckles covered her skin, so smooth. Her dark eyes looked at all her drawings and pictures scattered around her room . Her lips seperated with every exhale. The tv was still on, but the volume was low. We didn't pay attention to it, we only paid attention to eachother.

"I don't know what I'd do if there was a zombie apocaylpse. I would defiantely survive it though." She said smiling.

"Right, but you wouldn't know what to do. Sounds like a survivor to me." I replied sarcastically. She just chuckled and rolled onto her side to face me.

"Alrighty well than, what would you do?

"Uh I'm not sure. I would just try to keep my family safe and if I happen to run into you, I'll keep you safe as well."

"Than I will run to you when it happens."

There was a brief moment of silence. I thought about her family and how distant she is from them. Becca rarely ever talks about them. All she has told me is how her parents divorced and how her mom is struggling and how her dad is always busy.

"What happened between you and your family? If you don't mind me asking." I broke the silence.

"Uh we all just don't get along very well."

"How come?" I was curious to hear what she has to say. I've always been close to my family, I can't imagine what it is like not being close to your family.

"We just have had a lot of bad experiences with each other and I don't want to be apart of it anymore." I placed my hand on her hip.

"They never hurt you, have they?" My head rested in the pillow next to hers, my eyes looked directly into hers.

"Uh it was never too bad." She sounded upset. Her eyes were slowly shutting. I could tell she was exhausted. I watched as her eyes completely shut. Her body so still, so peaceful.

Beccas POV

I woke up with Zayn still lying next to me. My back and neck was sore which was evidence of a bad nights rests. I got up and looked around the house to see if my dad was home. He wasn't home still. I realized Zayn and I still have school today and Niall will be here any minute. I wasn't sure how I am supposed to explain to Niall why Zayn is at my house this early. I focused more on getting dressed than what I was going to tell Niall.

I rushed back into my room. Zayn was already dressed and ready to go. "I thought you already left." He said standing in front of the mirror while fixing his hair.

"No, but we need to hurry because Niall will be here any minute." I said fast trying to do my makeup.

"Niall?" We heard a car horn from outside and instantly rushed out the door.

I couldn't see Niall's expression because of his tinted windows, but I imagine he looked confused as of why Zayn was with me.

"Something doesn't feel right." Zayn whispered in my ear before opening the car door.

"Uh Hello Zayn?" Niall looked at me with that confused expression I imagined.

"Hey, I hope you don't mind taking me this morning. I didn't even know you were until five minutes ago." I could tell Zayn felt a little out of place.
