a rainy day

Sitting on her windowsill, watching the rain drip down the glass, she felt nothing. No pain, no suffering, no happiness, no joy. She described herself as empty and hollow. She had watched the sky become dark and the yellow flashing before her eyes. She wasn't even startled by it, not even in the slightest. She couldn't go out, even though she didn't particularly feel like it. Watching a rain drop slip down to the bottom of her window, she remembered something he would tell her every time it rained. Regardless of where she was, it always made her wish she could go back to that very moment.

"I really do hate the rain" she told him.

He stood there looking at her, completely bewildered.

"How can you possibly say that? I mean- look outside for god's sake! It's beautiful." He told her as he walked past her to stand next to the window.

"But it's dark and gloomy and it just radiates sadness. I don't like it at all" she huffed.

Sighing, he took her downstairs and pushed her right outside the door, into the rain. She really was mad now. He simply laughed that godly laugh of his, which would just pass electricity through her body.

"You're being silly. Just stand still and look up into the sky. I've always felt like rain was the universe's way of cleansing us. The rain washes away our sorrow, our pain. Just the feeling of the rain drops on my face, it's the most relieving thing in the world to me. This right here, is the most peaceful feeling in the world. I could spend hours in its arms. I can't imagine anyone hating this feeling" he said as his smile illuminated his face.

As he looked up and closed his eyes, he was all she could look at, and she had to admit, this was the most peaceful feeling in the world.
